New York Jets
Quarterback
Aaron Rodgers: Sit
Now 41 years old as of Monday this week, Aaron Rodgers‘ days as a Jet surely are coming to an end over the next few weeks. Time will tell if he’ll even finish out the season; he’ll either play these last few weeks or a phantom IR stint will happen to avoid an outright benching for the public eye. For now, Rodgers will remain under center and is set to face the Dolphins this week. In classic Jets fashion, the Rodgers experiment did not work out to plan, and any fantasy relevancy he had earlier in the season feels long gone.
Running Back
Breece Hall: Start, RB2
Braelon Allen: Sit
Isaiah Davis: Sit
Breece Hall’s usage has been so puzzling this season. In Week 11’s loss to the Colts, Hall scored twice, once on the ground and another through the air off of one of his seven receptions. Coming off the BYE – with some injury news mixed in ahead of Sunday’s game against Seattle – Hall turned his 12 carries into 60 scoreless yards and was targeted only once in the passing game. Add in a 2-PT conversion and two fumbles (one lost), and he was good for just 6.0 PPR points on the day. Woof. Hall has clearly not been himself this season, and that falls on him and the offense around him, but you’re going to stick with him and hope he powers through the rest of the way.
Braelon Allen, too, should be utilized more in his own right, but he’s been an afterthought since the beginning of the season. At this point, he’s only a handcuff for Hall. Despite his first career touchdown against the Seahawks, Isaiah Davis is best left on the wire.
Wide Receiver
Garrett Wilson: Start, WR3 with WR2 upside
Davante Adams: FLEX Option, WR3
We got a taste of the Rodgers & Davante Adams of Green Bay old last week, with Adams being on the receiving end of the patented pitch-and-catch reception for his second touchdown as a Jet. In total, he was targeted 12 times, catching five of those targets for 66 yards. The targets will remain aplenty for Adams as long as Rodgers is under center, so you can continue to lean on him in hopes he racks up yards and finds the end zone. Week 13 was a bummer for Garrett Wilson, as he caught five of 10 targets for 41 scoreless yards; Rodgers overthrew him in what should have been a gimmie touchdown in the 2nd quarter. Wilson hasn’t scored since Week 9 and has not had 100+ yards receiving in a game since Week 8. He’ll continue to see-saw with Adams for targets against a Dolphins defense that is stout against fantasy WRs this season, allowing the second-fewest per FantasyData.
Tight End
Tyler Conklin: Sit
Tyler Conklin was involved a bit more than a cardio session against the Seahawks, catching four of five targets for 32 yards. He certainly did not show enough to warrant a streaming nod this week.
Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa: Start, High-end QB2
Since Week 11, Tua Tagovailoa has averaged 323 passing yards per game, throwing for nine touchdowns and zero interceptions in that span. He has looked locked in, and even though the Jets just held Geno Smith to 206 yards and a touchdown last week, Tagovailoa is capable of having success against a Jets defense that has been Swiss cheese most of the season. It’s worth noting he has never lost to the Jets in his career; technically, he’s 5-0, but his first ‘win’ came in a game where he had two pass attempts in 2020 in relief of Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: Start, RB1
Raheem Mostert: Sit
Don’t let the seven carries for 14 yards make you fret with De’Von Achane. He made up for the lack of groundwork through the air against the Packers, catching eight of nine targets for 56 yards and a touchdown. In fact, Achane hasn’t been very productive on the ground in recent weeks, but as long as he continues to produce in the passing game, he’ll be poised for big games as he has been. Entering Week 14, Achane is the RB7 on the year.
Raheem Mostert has certainly not been the same back as he was in 2023 and hasn’t offered much fantasy relevancy this season.
Wide Receiver
Tyreek Hill: Start, WR1
Jaylen Waddle: Sit
The Jets rank as the best defense in the league against fantasy WRs entering Week 14, but that should not deter you from Tyreek Hill whatsoever. In the Thanksgiving loss to the Packers, Hill caught six of nine targets for 83 yards and a touchdown, but he should be able to find success against what has been a burnable Jets secondary. There was also a report that surfaced Monday that Sauce Gardner may be in jeopardy of missing this game with a hamstring injury; either way, you were still starting Hill here.
Jaylen Waddle, on the other hand, has not been very fantasy-relevant this season despite being just 53 yards and 10 receptions behind Hill on the year. Hill has 654 receiving yards with 55 receptions to his name.
Tight End
Jonnu Smith: Start, TE1
Another instance of not letting the points-against ranking fool you. The Jets may be allowing the fifth-fewest points to opposing fantasy TEs (an average of 9.8 pts a game as per FantasyData), but Jonnu Smith has been a locked-in TE1 since Week 11. In that span, he has caught 25 of 30 targets for a whopping 301 yards and 2 touchdowns. New York’s defense has been porous the majority of this season, so fire up Smith with confidence to have another big day.
