Sit and Start recommendations for EVERY fantasy-relevant player for Week 17 of fantasy football!

Game Info

Kickoff: Sunday, December 29th, 2024, 1:00PM ET

Location: Highmark Stadium, Erie County, New York

Network: CBS

New York Jets

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers: Sit

After stringing together a few productive games, Aaron Rodgers came back down to earth in the 19-9 loss to the Rams, completing 28 of 42 attempts for 256 yards and one touchdown. With this week playing host to fantasy championships, Rodgers shipping up to Buffalo to face a Bills team technically still fighting for the 1-seed is certainly not a matchup I would consider streaming whatsoever.

Running Back

Breece Hall: Start, RB2
Braelon Allen: Sit
Isaiah Davis: Sit

Yes, he’s playing through an apparent MCL injury, and since he is out there, Breece Hall has posted modest numbers in the past two games. The lack of rushing yardage isn’t helping anyone, but at the least, he’s still involved through the passing game. Against the Rams, Hall caught five of six targets for 38 yards, rushing for 52 yards on 14 carries. The Bills offer a plus-matchup for Hall and the Jets ‘backs, as they are allowing the second most fantasy points to opposing RBs on the season.

That said, if you have made it this far with Hall in your lineup, continue to treat him as an RB2. The likes of rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis can be left out of your lineup.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams: Start, WR1
Garrett Wilson: Start, WR2

Rodgers is one passing touchdown away from 500 in his career, and if you have been paying attention, you’ve gotten the sense that he wants Davante Adams on the receiving end of the milestone. Adams was targeted 13 times against the Rams and caught seven of those looks for 68 yards and a touchdown. He now has at least 11 targets in each game since Week 13, as well as at least one touchdown in that same span. At the rate Rodgers is looking his way, Adams will be a WR1 against the Bills. Garrett Wilson, on the other hand, while remaining serviceable in his own right, has simply lost quality targets to Adams in recent weeks; even so, he still is averaging 8.2 targets per game since Week 13. Wilson remains on pace to reach the 1000-yard receiving mark once again and shall be considered a WR2 up in Buffalo.

Tight End

Tyler Conklin: Sit

Against LA, Tyler Conklin caught five of seven targets for 59 scoreless yards, making for his best (fantasy) output since Week 8, but it’s not enough to build on to consider him a streaming option this week.

Buffalo Bills

Quarterback

Josh Allen: Start, QB1

In his worst fantasy output since Week 4, Josh Allen completed 16 of 29 attempts for 154 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the sweaty win against New England. He also had 30 yards on six rush attempts. His day was good for just 15.7 points, and he left dealing with an arm injury that he insists he will ‘be fine’ from. By the time Sunday comes around, Buffalo will know their fate as far as the No. 1 seed goes, but nonetheless, if you’ve made it to Championship Sunday with him as your QB, you are still rolling with him and taking any production you can get (given the circumstances).

Running Back

James Cook: Start, RB1
Ray Davis: Sit
Ty Johnson: Sit

It was the James Cook show against New England, as he turned 11 carries into 100 yards and a touchdown, catching all three of his targets for 26 yards and another score. Consider him an RB1 against a Jets defense that just allowed Kyren Williams to rush for 122 yards and a touchdown off 23 carries. Both Ray Davis and Ty Johnson can be ignored.

Wide Receiver

Khalil Shakir: FLEX Option, WR3
Keon Coleman: Sit
Amari Cooper: Sit

The Buffalo WR room collectively laid duds against the Patriots. Khalil Shakir caught two of six targets for just 22 yards, Keon Coleman had one reception off two targets for 17 yards, and Amari Cooper also had one catch off two targets for 10 yards. Clearly a day to forget for them all, if there is any Bills WR worth starting this week against New York, it’s Shakir.

Tight End

Dalton Kincaid: Streaming Option, TE2
Dawson Knox: Sit

The Jets struggle against tight ends, and if you feel inclined to have a Buffalo pass catcher in your lineup against a leaky Jets defense, Dalton Kincaid is the answer. Since returning in Week 15 from a knee injury, he has caught eight of 14 targets for 68 scoreless yards, but the pass-game offense seems to be running through both him and Shakir as of late.
