Arizona Cardinals

Quarterback

Kyler Murray (Start/QB1)

Murray is one of the most electric players in the NFL and is a bonafide QB1 play every week. His rushing ability and passing volume display just why experts were so high on him to begin the year. Even against a Washington defense that looked mighty stout against the Eagles, I am starting Murray with no hesitation.

Running Backs

Kenyan Drake (Start/RB1), Chase Edmonds (Sit/Deep-league flex)

Drake was a huge factor in Arizona’s week one win. He outrushed Edmonds 16-6 and had the go-ahead touchdown to seal the game. Edmonds does offer more than handcuff value however and has enough volume in this offense to be effective. View Drake as a solid RB1 this week and Edmonds as a flex in deep leagues.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

DeAndre Hopkins (Start/WR1), Larry Fitzgerald (Sit) Christian Kirk (Sit) Dan Arnold (Sit)

People wondered how things would go for Hopkins on a new team this year and it’s safe to say, he is still a beast. Hopkins pulled down 14 of his 16 targets for 151 receiving yards. Hopkins will remain a WR1 without question but his cohorts are harder to pin down. It is tough to gauge which of Fitzgerald or Kirk will get the most work from week to week but each has a chance to put up decent numbers in this offense.

Washington Football Team

Quarterback

Dwayne Haskins (Sit/QB3)

Haskins led his team to a victory last week but it wasn’t flashy. He threw for just 177 yards and one touchdown. It is best to leave him on the bench or waiver wire in all but the deepest of leagues or Superflex leagues.

Running Backs

Antonio Gibson (RB3/Flex), Peyton Barber (Sit), J.D. McKissic (Sit)

Here is another backfield that is a bit of a jumbled mess. Barber saw the most attempts and was the only one to score on the day. Gibson was the most effective runner with 4 yards-per-carry and McKissic was an afterthought with negative rushing yards. Gibson should pull away with the job here but proceed with caution if you plan to play any of them.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

Terry McLaurin (Start/WR2), Steven Sims (Sit), Logan Thomas (Sit/TE2)

Scary Terry had a bit of a letdown in week one, only catching five passes for 61 yards and no scores. He was shadowed by Slay all game and should bounce back this week against a team that Washington will have to throw to keep up with. Sims was only 11 yards shy of tying McLaurin on the day but he is not someone I advise playing and should be left on the wire until further notice. Logan Thomas could be an interesting play and is certainly an athletic freak. He had Washington’s only touchdown last week and is filling the void left by Jordan Reed. I cannot advise starting him until I see more.
