The List: Ranking Each Position for Week 6

Erik Smith releases his PPR fantasy football rankings for Week 6.

WR Rankings

  • What to do with the Seattle wide receivers? I know Geno Smith looked competent when he came in for relief for the injured Russell Wilson, but we’ve seen backup quarterbacks come in hot off the bench and then crash back to earth the following week, so this is far from a settled situation. D.K. Metcalf drew the attention of Smith last week and has the big frame and physicality to attract jump balls and forced passes from the Seattle backup. I’ve dropped him to WR23, however, so I wouldn’t fault you for benching him if you are stacked at WR. Tyler Lockett on the other hand has crashed back to earth after a hot first two weeks anyway and is likely most affected by the loss of Wilson. He’s still my WR27 due to his undeniable talent, but he could very well be a big play dependant option over the next few weeks, even more so than usual. And it certainly doesn’t help that they square off against a tough Steelers defense this week.

  • Allen Robinson II‘s targets by week in 2021: 11, 4, 6, 3, and 5. Hopefully the Packers put up some points and force the Bears out of their conservative shell, but even then there is enough of a question between Robinson and Darnell Mooney as the preferred target of Justin Fields that this is far from a smash spot for the once locked-in WR1. I’m one to almost always say “start your studs,” but there are too many questions to ignore anymore with Robinson, and he’s my WR30 this week.

  • Kadarius Toney is a spot behind Robinson, but only while we wait to see the health of the receiving corps around him. If Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton play, he’s suddenly got a bunch of increased competition for targets, and that’s before considering whether his quarterback is Daniel Jones or Mike Glennon. If everything breaks right for Toney, and Jones plays while the receivers sit, he’s a borderline top 25 option this week. But let’s keep an eye on the Giants’ injury reports before we make our final decision.
