New York Giants @ Washington Commanders
Final Score: Commanders 27, Giants 27 (OT)
Writer: Jay Felicio (@GmenJay on twitter/x/bluesky, @gmenj on reddit)
Three Up
- Isaiah Likely– Caught two more touchdowns, now accounts for more than 30% of Jameis Winston’s targets this year.
- Malik Nabers – Nearly doubled his season total in targets and scored for the second straight week.
- Jayden Daniels – Didn’t throw any touchdowns, but ran for two 30+ yard scores.
Three Down
- Darnell Mooney – Targeted a season high seven times but only caught two.
- Antonio Williams – Was hoping for more than three catches for 31 yards with Stefon Diggs out.
- Austin Ekeler – Great dude. Friend of the fantasy community. Should have stayed retired.
New York Giants
Quarterback
Jameis Winston: 33/54, 326 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT | 5 Carries, 27 Yards, Fumble (LOST)
Jameis Winston looked eerily similar to last week. His ability to extend plays with his legs and occasionally run for a first down kept the offense on the field more than once. Winston made a couple of impressive throws, but was still way off target way too much. Again, Winston had multiple errant throws get bailed out by his pass catchers. His stat sheet looks clean of interceptions, but he did throw one in the third that was negated by a penalty. Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers accounted for 61% of Winston’s 54 pass attempts and all of his touchdowns. Don’t get me wrong, 300+ and three touchdown passes is a phenomenal fantasy day. But Winston’s performance was once again much more uneven than the box score suggests.
Notes
- With 1:43 remaining in the fourth quarter hit a 17-yard touchdown to Nabers to tie it
- On 2nd & 19, scrambled to stay alive and threw behind a streaking Mooney.
- Epic pump fake in OT

J.J. McCarthy: 2 Carries, 2 Yards
One pass attempt and two designed runs, J.J. McCarthy isn’t getting the starting job outside of injury.
Notes
- Had one completion on a screen play that got called back by a penalty.
Missed Opportunities
- His career.
Running Back
Cam Skattebo: 13 Carries, 59 Yards, Fumble (LOST) | 3 Targets, 2 Receptions, 12 Yards
Cam Skattebo looked fine, but overall was mediocre. To be fair, he was constantly getting hit in the backfield and had little room to run. He nearly gave the win to Washington with a costly fumble in overtime, so it’ll be interesting to see if he loses any opportunities to Harris or Tracy moving forward.
Najee Harris: 5 Carries, 9 Yards | 1 Target, 1 Reception, 5 Yards
Najee Harris didn’t look like the same player as he did against the Cardinals, averaging less than two yards per carry and losing two yards on his only red zone carry.
Tyrone Tracy Jr.: 3 Carries, 6 Yards | 3 Targets, 2 Receptions, 25 Yards
Caught a couple of passes and handled a few carries, but still a non-factor for fantasy. Converted a fourth and four with a 21-yard catch.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Malik Nabers: 20 Targets, 11 Receptions, 121 Yards, TD
If you weren’t convinced Malik Nabers still has the same ceiling with Winston after last week, you can officially breathe easy. Nabers caught 11 passes, five of which were completions over 10 yards, including the game-tying score with under two minutes to play.

Notes
- Made a play on an under-thrown deep pass late in the first for a 20-yard catch.
Missed Opportunities
- Could have had an even bigger day if not missed by Winston multiple times.
Isaiah Likely: 13 Targets, 11 Receptions, 94 Yards, 2 TD
Was the guy Winston looked for any time he needed to make a play, whether it be on third down or a play that broke down. Likely set a career high with 11 receptions and scored twice in the second half: the first on a perfect pass from Winston in the third, and the second a 17-yard touchdown on 4th & 8 in the fourth. The play was reversed on review after being ruled short with a fumble through the end zone.
Theo Johnson: 3 Targets, 2 Receptions, 35 Yards
Malachi Fields: 2 Targets, 2 Receptions, 20 Yards
Both Theo Johnson and Malachi Fields played a minimal role, catching two passes each in a game Winston threw over 50 times.
Darnell Mooney: 7 Targets, 2 Receptions, 14 Yards
Two catches on seven targets for Darnell Mooney is an ugly box score. But in his defense, he never really had a chance on many his targets. Winston was constantly off target when throwing to Mooney, and while Mooney definitely should have come up with a couple of them, it would have been a lot easier had Winston hit him in stride instead of throwing behind him.
Missed Opportunities
- Should have come down with a catch on 2nd & 19 on a throw from Winston that was off target but got his hand on.
Washington Commanders
Quarterback
Jayden Daniels: 17/25, 199 Yards, 0 TD, 0 INT | 9 Carries, 103 Yards, 2 TD
Jayden Daniels faced pressure all day long but was able to rush for over 100 yards and score twice on just nine carries. He was sacked five times and was unable to get in the end zone through the air, but his legs did everything the passing game couldn’t. His unfortunate decision to run the ball at the end of OT with the clock running did wind up costing the Commanders the win, however.
Notes
- Both scoring runs were essentially the same play, a scramble that turned into a footrace only he could win.
- Added a two-point conversion to Terry McLaurin after the second score.
Missed Opportunities
- Sacked for a six-yard loss by Abdul Carter in the first, who celebrated with a Spidey thwip in homage to the injured Brian Burns.
Running Back
Jacory Croskey-Merritt: 11 Carries, 82 Yards, TD
Jacory Croskey-Merritt‘s superpower is periodically producing attractive box scores while looking like hot hot garbage on the field. JCM did take his first touch to the house for a 33-yard score. But don’t get too excited; he didn’t do much to make it happen. Similar to how he had a “big game” against the Chargers last season, it was play design and him taking advantage of poor defensive play. He ran through a wide-open hole and sped into the endzone.
Notes
- Bill had a 33-yard carry and a 22-yard carry (on another wide-open hole and a missed tackle).
- His other nine carries went for 27 yards.
Rachaad White: 7 Carries, 18 Yards | 1 Target, 1 Reception, 2 Yards
- Rachaad White‘s impact was on special teams, taking four kick returns for 100 yards.
Austin Ekeler: 3 Carries, -1 Yards | 1 Target, 1 Reception, 15 Yards
Negative yardage on three carries and one catch for 15 yards, Austin Ekeler looked every bit of washed up.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Terry McLaurin: 4 Targets, 4 Receptions, 62 Yards
An efficient day but a low fantasy total thanks to Daniels attempting just 24 passes. He did catch a two-point conversion after Daniels’ second rushing touchdown to produce a solid 12-point PPR day.
Chig Okonkwo: 6 Targets, 4 Receptions, 60 Yards
Chig Okonkwo finally looks healthy and was the engine of Washington’s opening drive, catching two passes for a total of 34 yards before JCM waltzed into the endzone. Chig looked electric with the ball in his hands and should be stashed by anybody in need of a tight end.
Antonio Williams: 3 Targets, 3 Receptions, 31 Yards
Treylon Burks: 5 Targets, 2 Receptions, 26 Yards
Dyami Brown: 2 Targets, 1 Reception, 2 Yards, Fumble
John Bates: 1 Target, 1 Reception, 1 Yard
The supporting cast for the Commanders combined for seven catches on 11 targets. Treylon Burks saw the most targets and caught half of his yards in overtime. It was a disappointing afternoon for Antonio Williams, who has flashed over the first few weeks of the season but was only able to accrue three catches for 31 yards with Stefon Diggs out of the lineup.
