New England Patriots

Quarterback

Drake Maye: START, QB1

You don’t need me to tell you to start Drake Maye, but did you know that he played Santa Claus for the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, R.I., this holiday season? This month, he and his wife, Ann Michael, surprised 20 kids with a massive shopping spree at a North Attleboro, Mass., JCPenney, giving each child a $200 gift card and a new pair of Nike sneakers to ensure they walked into the new year in style. Even though the Ravens’ defense has played better in the second half of the season, Maye has been virtually matchup-proof in his MVP campaign and is my QB3 on the week, behind only Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts.

Running Back

TreVeyon Henderson: START, RB1
Rhamondre Stevenson: FLEX, RB3

I’ve pounded the table for TreVeyon Henderson since Day 1, and over the past month or so, he’s shown exactly why. Since Week 10, Henderson has the second-most rushing touchdowns with six and is averaging 6.5 yards per carry, 98 yards per game, and a 7.9% explosive-run rate, all top five among backs with at least 30 carries over that span. He’s been that home run hitter, tying Saquon Barkley for the most rushing touchdowns of 50 or more yards by a rookie since 2000. Shoutout to my good friend Michael F. Florio of NFL Network, not that other Florio, for this cool stat he tweeted. In the history of the NFL, there have been three running backs to have multiple games of two or more rushing touchdowns of 50 or more yards in the same game:

Chris Johnson
Saquon Barkley
And now, TreVeyon Henderson

In the Patriots’ last three games, Rhamondre Stevenson is still playing 50% of snaps, but Henderson is finally seeing 50% of the carries compared to 28% for Stevenson. If you were able to make it into the fantasy playoffs with Hendo on your team despite coach Mike Vrabel’s ineptitude, congratulations. You have yourself a league winner. Lock in Hendo as an RB1 against Baltimore, with Stevenson a flex in hopes he can get into the end zone.

Wide Receiver

Stefon Diggs: START, WR3
Kayshon Boutte: FLEX, WR4

Mack Hollins: SIT

All of the Patriots’ receivers have underperformed as of late, with Stefon Diggs, Kayshon Boutte, and Mack Hollins recording one game over 10 fantasy points each over the last month. Baltimore’s a decent enough matchup to keep Diggs in your lineup as a WR3 and Boutte as a boom-or-bust flex, but starting any of them is a risk.

Tight End

Hunter Henry: SIT

Hunter Henry followed up his back-to-back double-digit games before the bye with a one-catch stinker. He belongs on fantasy benches against the Ravens, who give up the sixth-fewest points to tight ends.

Defense/Special Teams

New England Patriots: STREAMER

The Pats’ defense held three straight opponents under 20 points before the bye, making for a solid streamer against the uneven Ravens offense.

Baltimore Ravens

Quarterback

Lamar Jackson: START, QB1

Lamar Jackson missed practice on Wednesday with a reported illness and flu-like symptoms, so his status for Sunday is truly a toss-up. Jackson has struggled as of late, but threw two touchdown passes against the Bengals, his first multi-passing touchdown game since Week 9. Regardless of his struggles, Jackson is locked in as a must-start QB1 in all formats.

Running Back

Derrick Henry: START, RB2
Rasheen Ali: SIT
Keaton Mitchell: SIT

Derrick Henry has 10 or more points in nine straight games, but just two games over 20 points since Week 1. King Henry is locked into your lineup regardless of matchup, but doesn’t have that week-winning upside he once possessed. He could struggle to get things going against the Patriots, who give up the fourth-fewest points to the position and have allowed just two 100-yard rushers all year.

Wide Receiver

Zay Flowers: START, WR2
DeAndre Hopkins: SIT
Rashod Bateman: SIT

“SEE, I TOLD YOU, HE CAN SCORE TOUCHDOWNS!” He shouted at his cat, who stared back, baffled.

“I never said he couldn’t,” thought the cat.

Anywho … Zay Flowers caught his second touchdown of the season, following up his 20-point performance with a solid 15.8 fantasy points against the Bengals. Flowers has been consistent, but lacked the big plays that came with the touchdowns last season. He’s as safe a WR2 as you can find. No other Ravens receiver is fantasy-relevant.

Tight End

Mark Andrews: STREAMER
Isaiah Likely: STREAMER

Probably the two most disappointing players in all of fantasy in Week 15, Mark Andrews and Isiah Likely scored a combined 3.8 fantasy points against the Bengals. THE BENGALS. The defense that hemorrhages fantasy points to tight ends. Likely wasn’t even targeted! They both have a chance to right the wrong in a top-10 matchup against New England, but after last week, I can’t recommend them as anything other than a streamer.

Defense/Special Teams

Baltimore Ravens: SIT

New England’s averaging 30 points per game over its past three and is tied for the fifth-fewest giveaways this season.
