Indianapolis Colts

Quarterbacks

Gardner Minshew (Sit), Anthony Richardson (Start, QB2)

Rookie Anthony Richardson was on his way to a potential big game in Week 2 against the Texans before exiting with a concussion. Prior to the injury, he was able to score twice on the ground, and completed six of just 10 passes for 56 yards. Time will tell if Richardson can clear protocol in time to suit up against the Ravens, and if he does, consider him a QB2 for his rushing upside alone. If he can’t go, that means Gardner Minshew will line up under center for the Colts, but he does not hold streaming appeal in a single-QB league despite coming off of a 171-yard, one-touchdown performance in relief for Richardson.

Running Backs

Zack Moss (Start, RB2)

Zack Moss literally had the backfield to himself against the Texans last week, having been the only Indy running back to take a carry in the game. He turned 18 carries into 88 yards and a touchdown, adding four receptions on four targets for 19 yards. This was an encouraging season debut off of the broken foreman he suffered in training camp. Deon Jackson is now clinging onto a special teams role, seemingly in the dog house for losing two fumbles in Week 1. Moss projects as an RB2 this week off expected volume alone.

Wide Receivers/Tight End

Michael Pittman Jr. (Start, WR3), Kylen Granson (Sit)

There are two pass-catchers worth mentioning for the Colts, and one of them is Michael Pittman Jr. The clear WR1 on this team has caught 16 of 23 targets through the first two games of the season, totaling 153 yards and a touchdown. No matter who is under center for the Colts, Pittman will remain the preferred target compared to Josh Downs and Alec Pierce.

Tight end Kylen Granson isn’t a reliable streaming option, but he did catch Minshew’s touchdown pass last week, his first career score in the NFL; and had a post-game celebration to document the moment:

Baltimore Ravens

Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson (Start, QB1)

Week 2 was a bounce-back for Lamar Jackson, as he completed 24 of 33 attempts for 237 yards and two touchdowns, and even turned 12 carries into 54 yards. It helped to have his number one target back in Mark Andrews, and Jackson will remain to be a top fantasy option with a Week 3 date with the Colts; especially if he is able to mix the pass and rush attempts aplenty. It’s worth mentioning he did suffer a stinger on his non-throwing hand (left), but appeared fine post-game.

Running Backs

Gus Edwards (Start, FLEX), Justice Hill (Sit)

Gus Edwards and Justice Hill seemingly split the workload against the Bengals, as Edwards had 10 touches to Hill’s 11, but it was Edwards who found the end zone, saving his fantasy day. Both backs give off touchdown-dependent energy, which would make them FLEX options, and nothing higher. However, on Wednesday, news broke that Hill is dealing with a toe injury that may sideline him for Week 3. In a corresponding move, the Ravens brought back Kenyan Drake, but he does not hold fantasy value.

Wide Receivers/ Tight Ends

Rashod Bateman (Sit), Odell Beckham Jr. (Sit), Zay Flowers (Start, FLEX), Mark Andrews (Start, TE1)

The Baltimore WR room is clearly still a work in progress through the first two weeks. Rashod Bateman hasn’t surpassed three targets per game, Odell Beckham Jr. is now dealing with a minor (but allegedly not a threatening) ankle injury, and Zay Flowers went from 10 targets in Week 1 to 5 last week against the Bengals. That’s likely because Mark Andrews made his season debut, catching five of eight targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. One thing is clear though: Flowers is making a case to continue to out-target Bateman and Beckham, and would be the only Baltimore receiver to trust starting right now. Through the first two games, Flowers has 15 targets which is atop the team lead.

Great piece, but needs some clean-up. You have Thielen initially listed as a WR1 (he will never be a WR1 again), then go on to say he’s a WR2. Then you list Kenneth Walker as a Flex, then go on to say he is a RB1.

    • Drew DeLuca says:

Thank you for the feedback! The writer’s rationale for being high on Thielen is largely based on his matchup against one of the three worst corners in the league (per PFF). The write-up was cleaned up for clarity after the opportunity to do so was first brought to our attention. Thanks for reading!
