The List: Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 2

PPR fantasy football positional rankings, including top 150 FLEX players, for Week 2.

  • In the first few weeks of the season, the quarterback position is easy for managers to decide. You go with the guy you drafted. There is a tier of players that you can rely on most weeks to deliver, and in Week 2, that tier is nearly identical to what we had in Week 1. They are the elite runners and Patrick Mahomes. Rookie Jayden Daniels made a case to be a part of this group for fantasy purposes in Week 1, and while he did jump up for Week 2, he fell just short of that elite tier 1 week to week.
  • When looking at the top 12 options this week, there are a few names we need to explore a bit further. Joe Burrow struggled to start the season. Without Tee Higgins and with a somewhat limited Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals offense was out of sync and inconsistent for most of the game. We need evidence that Burrow can reclaim his old form before we can roll him out with a ton of comfort. He barely makes the QB1 range for me, and he may fall even further if he falters once again in Week 2.
  • The next name we have to discuss is Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has to have Browns fans down eternally bad right now. He kicked off his season with a four-touchdown performance, finishing as the overall QB2. The offense looked to be in mid-season form, and Mayfield is a player on the rise. He has another good matchup in Week 2 and should once again be a top-10 quarterback.
  • Tier 3 is full of players that might be starting for you in Week 2, but you are less excited about that now than when you drafted them. The good news is I expect a better day for nearly every quarterback in this group. Every player in Tier 3 has the talent to be a starting QB for your roster, but a few things are holding them back from being in the top two tiers for Week 2. In this tier, I would be most excited about Justin Herbert’s upside. Also worth noting, if you have Caleb Williams, don’t panic. Week 2 is a tougher matchup, but he will get better every week. Stay the course.
