New York Giants
Quarterback
Drew Lock: Sit, QB2
Drew Lock turned some heads last week with a 35-point fantasy performance, but he won’t be a recommended start against one of the league’s best overall defenses. The Eagles may sit one or two of their key defensive players, but this unit is strong enough to make this tough sledding for Lock. Look elsewhere if you can.
Running Back
Tyrone Tracy Jr.: Start, RB2
Devin Singletary: Sit
While Tyrone Tracy Jr.‘s efficiency has dropped over the past few weeks, he still appears to have firm control of this backfield after toting the rock 20 times in Week 17. His usage makes him a volume-based RB2 in a week where several key players are sitting across the league. Devin Singletary is not a recommended start, however.
Wide Receiver
Malik Nabers: Start, WR1
Wan’Dale Robinson: FLEX Option, WR4
Darius Slayton: Sit
Malik Nabers turned in a signature performance in Week 17, burning the Colts for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. While the matchup against the Eagles is much tougher, Nabers has solidified himself as one of the dynamic young playmakers in the league and should be started with confidence in all formats as a back-end WR1. Wan’Dale Robinson may have some FLEX viability in deeper leagues, but his anemic ADOT gives him a very low ceiling. Avoid him and Darius Slayton if at all possible.
Tight End
Daniel Bellinger: Sit
Daniel Bellinger is not a reliable enough option to start in Week 18 and should be left on waivers in all formats.
Philadelphia Eagles
Quarterback
Kenny Pickett/Tanner McKee: Sit
Regardless of who we see under center for the Eagles on Sunday, neither Kenny Pickett nor Tanner McKee will be strong starting options with so many key offensive players likely sitting. This team needs Jalen Hurts to get healthy for the playoffs.
Running Back
Kenneth Gainwell: Start, RB2
Will Shipley: Sit
Much to the dismay of fantasy football gamers, it appears Saquon Barkley will not be taking the field on Sunday to break the single-season rushing record. This means Kenneth Gainwell should be the lead back in Week 18, and he’s a sneaky play I really like this week. Gainwell averages a solid 4.3 yards per carry and now gets one of the weakest run defenses in the league. There’s a strong chance he returns RB2 value, while Will Shipley shouldn’t be trusted in this situation.
Wide Receiver
Sit All
As of right now, it looks like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will be taking the week off to rest up for the playoffs. This means we’ll see some mix of Jahan Dotson, Johnny Wilson, and Ainias Smith as the Eagles’ top receivers this week. I don’t particularly trust any of them to get the job done in fantasy leagues in Week 18.
Tight End
Grant Calcaterra: Sit, TE2
Grant Calcaterra has caught a pass in just three of his last eight games. He may see increased usage if Brown and Smith do indeed sit this one out, but it’s far too risky to trust him as anything more than a deep-league emergency streamer.
