Miami Dolphins

Quarterback

Tyler Huntley: Sit, QB2

Tua Tagovailoa has practiced in a limited capacity this week, but it seems likely that Tyler Huntley will be under center for the Dolphins’ season finale in East Rutherford. Huntley has a modest upside with his rushing ability but isn’t a recommended start in single QB leagues. In Superflex leagues, he’s a decent streamer, as the Jets have not been the stout defense we’re used to seeing of late.

Running Back

De’Von Achane: Start, RB2

The only RB worth considering for the Dolphins this week is De’Von Achane. Achane has struggled this season in games not started by Tua, and last week’s 5.8-point PPR performance was no exception. Achane is a special athlete with elite speed, but we’re tempering expectations for him this week. This entire offense suffers dramatically when Tagovailoa is out. His workload and big-play ability should keep him ranked as a mid-range RB2, but this has the makings of a boom-or-bust week for Achane.

Wide Receiver

Tyreek Hill: Start, WR2
Jaylen Waddle: Sit

The Tua-less passing attack for the Dolphins tends to underwhelm, but Tyreek Hill did eclipse 100 yards for just the third time this season in Week 17 with Huntley at the helm. He’ll probably need to find the end zone to return true WR1/2 value, but that may be easier to do with Jaylen Waddle banged up. Waddle may sit Sunday in this meaningless game, but even if he does play, he wouldn’t be a recommended start.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith: Start, TE1

The most consistent player for the Dolphins this season has arguably been Jonnu Smith, who has been a bona fide weapon in the red zone for Miami all season. Even with Tua out last week, Smith came through by scoring his 7th TD of the season. His red zone usage keeps him in the top 12 options this week, even with Huntley leading the way.

New York Jets

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers: Sit, QB2

I’m sure you’ve all heard plenty about Aaron Rodgers sitting at 499 career touchdown passes heading into Week 18. The last time these teams met, Rodgers had his first 300-yard passing game in multiple years. He’s unlikely to replicate that feat, but he’ll still be looking to throw career touchdown #500, likely to his good friend Davante Adams. Rodgers has yet to decide on his status for 2025, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it hinged on his ability to hit that milestone this week. Consider him a mid-range QB2 with a wide range of outcomes based on his recent performances.

Running Back

Breece Hall: Start, RB1

As long as he’s on the field, Breece Hall is the only player in this backfield worth starting. The Aaron Rodgers experiment has not been kind to Hall’s fantasy production, but Hall has one more chance to deliver on his lofty draft position in 2024. The Dolphins are middle-of-the-road against fantasy RBs, so as long as Breece gets a decent workload, he should at least be able to return RB2 value. Start him as such with RB1 upside with so many players resting this week.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams: Start, WR2
Garrett Wilson: Start, WR2

With Rodgers seeking his 500th TD pass, it was Garrett Wilson, not Davante Adams, who caught a TD pass last week, though it came from Tyrod Taylor instead of Rodgers. Against a tougher Dolphins defense that Rodgers gashed last time, both receivers are mid-range WR2 options, but we’ll give the slight edge to Adams, as Rodgers will still likely target him for #500.

Tight End

Tyler Conklin: Sit

Conklin has missed a couple of practices to start the week, but even if he plays, he wouldn’t be a strong option to finish the season.
