Dallas Cowboys

Quarterback

Dak Prescott: Start, QB1

Dak Prescott threw the ball 51 times while chasing the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. Dak was unable to complete the comeback, but he did put up his first QB1 during the first week of the season. Throwing for nearly 400 yards, Dak is now averaging 40 attempts and 284 passing yards per game. In Week 4, Prescott faces the Giants, who have been average against opposing Quarterbacks. The real question will be what kind of pressure he faces as the Giants defense continues to get to the Quarterback (14.5 Sacks this season). The passing volume may also be lower as this game may be lower scoring than fantasy managers would like. Fire him up this week before he likely makes another trip to your bench in Week 5.

Running Back

Rico Dowdle: Sit
Ezekiel Elliott: Sit

The Cowboys don’t have an option for you when it comes to running back. Dowdle is my RB36 for the week, and Zeke falls to RB50. Dowdle saw 50% of the running back carries and a 10% target share in Week 3, but that usage still won’t be enough for an offense that throws the ball 40+ times a game. If you are rostering Zeke, it is safe to drop him. If you roster Dowdle, keep him on your bench for now. A silver lining for fantasy managers who are forced to play Dowdle is that the Giants have allowed opposing running backs to average over 5.0 yards per carry this season.

Wide Receiver

CeeDee Lamb: Start, WR1
Brandin Cooks: Sit
Jalen Tolbert: Sit

CeeDee Lamb has had a slow start to the season, with only a 13.7% target share last week against the Ravens. The Giants have been middle of the pack against receivers this season, but Lamb was able to post 150+ yards against them in his last game against New York and could be in for another big day against the division rival. When it comes to both Cooks and Tolbert, both are off the radar for fantasy this week but should see 4/5 targets each. Consider them both low-ceiling and floor options, as neither player has been able to get much going with any sort of reliability. If you are in deep leagues and need to look ahead, Tolbert looks to be taking over the WR2 role for this team going forward.

Tight End

Jake Ferguson: Start, TE1

Ferguson came roaring back to life in Week 3 after a missed week due to injury. He saw 11 targets and was able to rack up 95 yards. Ferguson is the second option in the Cowboys passing attack right now, and that bodes well for the tight end. This may be a lower volume week, but his efficiency should be enough to have him land as a mid-range TE1 in Week 4. The position is ultimately determined by high target share and touchdowns, so Ferguson has a chance to outproduce his TE7 rank this week if he can find the end zone against the Giants.

New York Giants

Quarterback

Daniel Jones: Sit, QB2

Daniel Jones has had two strong weeks, but he may come back to earth against a familiar opponent in the Dallas Cowboys. Jones has found a recipe for success: get Malik Nabers the ball. Assuming that is the sole focus of the defense, I would not be surprised to see Jones’ turnover-free football come to an end in Week 4. The good news for Jones in fantasy football is that he is starting to run more, which always helps to elevate his floor. Leave Jones on the bench in 1QB leagues this week.

Running Back

Devin Singletary: Start, RB2

Devin Singletary has played well, operating as the workhorse back for the New York Giants. He has averaged over 4.5 yards per carry and faces a Cowboys defense that has allowed the most yards on the ground (557) this season. Singletary may not have a BOOM week ahead of him, but his floor is well within the RB2 range. You can feel confident rolling him out in Week 4 and continue to do so until he starts to come back down to earth.

Wide Receiver

Malik Nabers: Start, WR1
Wan’Dale Robinson:
 FLEX Option

Until further notice, the only Giants wide receiver you need to ever think about is Malik Nabers. Nabers is averaging 12.3 targets per game this season (209 Target Pace). Not only that, but he is also efficient with those targets. Nabers is on pace to outproduce all of the rookie records set by Puka Nacua just last season. He has established himself as a locked and loaded WR1 for the remainder of the season. Matchups don’t matter, Daniel Jones doesn’t matter, Nabers is HIM. Meanwhile, although Wan’Dale Robinson is absorbing a good number of targets as the team’s WR2, most of those targets are short looks, leaving him as a low-ceiling FLEX option at best.

Tight End

Sit All

Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger combined for two catches for 30 yards in Week 3. They are firmly off the fantasy football radar.

i feel like only the thursday game should be posted on thursday and the rest of the games on friday.. after this is posted there is so much more player news with practice sits etc that a lot of what youre writing is no longer valid and the opinion is void.

for example: damien pierce was limited just today. so akers should be a viable start if he doesnt play.

    • Hey, thanks for reading and commenting! We try to get all of our recommendations out on Thursday so that you have all that information in case you’re on the fence between a guy that plays on Thursday vs. Sunday. We don’t always have all of the information because of the timing with practice reports, but we try to update things as we get more info. As for the Texans backfield, I’m still a bit hesitant to recommend Akers, but he could have an easier time this week against the Jags than he did last week against the Vikings.

This list used to be a lot more nuanced in the past. Talking about #3 / #4 players and ranking them as such. Now it seems like every player if they’re not a #1 or #2 at their position they are simply a sit. I don’t need to know to start my top players it’s the flex ones in the middle I need a write up on. Wish this list was as thorough as years past.

    • Thanks for this feedback! We try and do our best to cover as many fantasy-relevant players as possible, and you can check out our list of weekly rankings to see how everyone stacks up. Is there a player or two I can help provide a more detailed breakdown of for you?

Having Anthony Richardson as a Start and Sam Darnold as a Sit is fantasy malpractice.

    • Hey, thanks for reading. I personally think Richardson has the higher ceiling this week with his rushing upside and Darnold has a hostile environment this week heading into Green Bay. If you personally want to see more out of Richardson before giving him the start again, I completely understand!
