Sit/Start 2024 Week 4: Reviewing All Fantasy Relevant Players In Every Single Game

Sit or Start recommendations for every relevant player in Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season.

Game Info

Kickoff: Sunday, September 29th, 2024, 4:25 ET

Location: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada

Network: CBS

Cleveland Browns

Quarterback

Deshaun Watson: Sit

Deshaun Watson has yet to pass for 200 yards in a game this season. The last time he even threw for 250 yards was Week 3 of 2023. It is time to move on.

Running Back

Jerome Ford: FLEX Option
D’Onta Foreman: Sit

Jerome Ford has a knee injury and has missed practice thus far. We need to get an update on his status before he is safe to roll out as a FLEX option. The Browns face the Raiders in Week 4, who have allowed the third-most points to opposing running backs. If Ford does miss time, D’Onta Foreman would be the next man up, and while the matchup is solid, Foreman would be only a deep league FLEX option as he lacks the juice that Ford has and is not going to be involved on passing downs.

Wide Receiver

Amari Cooper: Start, WR2
Jerry Jeudy: Sit
Elijah Moore: Sit

The Browns wide receivers are mostly guys you should be avoiding right now, as Deshaun Watson is not even a replacement-level player at this point. The consistency here is something to monitor. While he was unproductive in the first two weeks, Amari Cooper was able to score two touchdowns in Week 3. In Week 4, he will face a Las Vegas Raiders defense that has ranked in the bottom third of the league against opposing wide receivers. He is firmly in the WR2 range.

Tight End

Sit All

David Njoku is unlikely to play this week, and Jordan Akins won’t get the job done in your lineups. Look elsewhere for your Tight End in Week 4.

Las Vegas Raiders

Quarterback

Gardner Minshew: Sit

Gardner Minshew is my QB28 for the week. He has been able to find a nice connection with rookie tight end Brock Bowers, which should serve him well as he fights to remain the team’s starter. It is one of the tougher matchups for tight ends, though, so Minshew will have to rely on spreading the ball around if he wants to find success.

Running Back

Zamir White: Sit
Alexander Mattison: Sit

Both Raiders’ running backs have little upside from week to week. They find themselves in a particularly difficult matchup this week against the Browns, which is why Zamir White lands as my RB33, there are better options for your FLEX at wide receiver this week.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams: Start, WR1
Jakobi Meyers: Sit

Davante Adams has had a tough season so far, with only one game over 60 yards. He is a fringe WR1 this week due to an average Cleveland secondary. Jakobi Meyers had a strong Week 3 and could be in for another good game this week, but the volatility of the Raiders offense right now is best to avoid unless you are down one of the injured pass catchers.

Tight End

Brock Bowers: Start, TE1

Brock Bowers had his first-down game this season as the Raiders’ offense struggled. This week, the Raiders could experience more of the same as they take on the Cleveland Browns, who may be a mess on offense but can hang with the best teams in the league defensively. The good news for Bowers is that the tight-end position is a bit of a mess right now, and his role is more defined than most. Expect Bowers to see 5-8 targets this week.

i feel like only the thursday game should be posted on thursday and the rest of the games on friday.. after this is posted there is so much more player news with practice sits etc that a lot of what youre writing is no longer valid and the opinion is void.

for example: damien pierce was limited just today. so akers should be a viable start if he doesnt play.

    • Hey, thanks for reading and commenting! We try to get all of our recommendations out on Thursday so that you have all that information in case you’re on the fence between a guy that plays on Thursday vs. Sunday. We don’t always have all of the information because of the timing with practice reports, but we try to update things as we get more info. As for the Texans backfield, I’m still a bit hesitant to recommend Akers, but he could have an easier time this week against the Jags than he did last week against the Vikings.

This list used to be a lot more nuanced in the past. Talking about #3 / #4 players and ranking them as such. Now it seems like every player if they’re not a #1 or #2 at their position they are simply a sit. I don’t need to know to start my top players it’s the flex ones in the middle I need a write up on. Wish this list was as thorough as years past.

    • Thanks for this feedback! We try and do our best to cover as many fantasy-relevant players as possible, and you can check out our list of weekly rankings to see how everyone stacks up. Is there a player or two I can help provide a more detailed breakdown of for you?

Having Anthony Richardson as a Start and Sam Darnold as a Sit is fantasy malpractice.

    • Hey, thanks for reading. I personally think Richardson has the higher ceiling this week with his rushing upside and Darnold has a hostile environment this week heading into Green Bay. If you personally want to see more out of Richardson before giving him the start again, I completely understand!
