Tennessee Titans
Quarterback
Will Levis: Sit
Will Levis should remain out of your lineups but on your TV screens whenever possible. He is an incredibly entertaining quarterback to watch, but not for the reasons that warrant fantasy consideration.
Running Back
Tony Pollard: Start, RB2
Tyjae Spears: Sit
Tony Pollard has maintained the workload of a lead back while Tyjae Spears has battled injuries in the early weeks of this season. Week 3 didn’t provide much of an opportunity for either back to shine as they attempted to mount a comeback against the Packers, but Spears unsurprisingly operated as the primary pass-catching back. Pollard could find some room for a larger workload in Week 4 against a Miami team that just allowed Zach Charbonnet to rush for 91 yards and 2 TDs. Fire up Pollard as a rock-solid RB2, but leave Spears on your bench for now if you can manage. He’s our RB38 this week.
Wide Receiver
Calvin Ridley: FLEX Option
DeAndre Hopkins: Sit
Calvin Ridley has given us a few highlight plays this season already, but the talented receiver hasn’t had more than four receptions in a game this season. He’s a risky FLEX option with Levis throwing him the ball, though this Dolphins secondary can get burned for big plays, as DK Metcalf showed us last week. Ridley may have his hands full dealing with coverage from Kendall Fuller and Jaylen Ramsey, but he’s the best option in this offense’s passing game. DeAndre Hopkins can be left on benches for now as what is essentially a version of Ridley with a lower floor and ceiling.
Tight End
Chig Okonkwo: Sit, TE2
It was Nick Vanett who scored a tight end touchdown for the Titans in Week 3, not Chig Okonkwo. While the latter is certainly the better fantasy option, he’s too risky of a play to trust in your lineups. There should be better streamers out there.
Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Skylar Thompson or Snoop Huntley: Sit
As of right now, it’s unclear who will be taking snaps under center going into Week 4 for the Dolphins. Whether it’s Skylar Thompson or Snoop Huntley, you won’t be starting them in your fantasy lineups. Huntley is likely the better option for fantasy teams moving forward, as he’s served as a decent backup to Lamar Jackson during his time in Baltimore, but we’ll want to see him in action before adding him to your rosters.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: Start, RB1
Jaylen Wright: Sit
Jeff Wilson, Jr.: Sit
Raheem Mostert: Sit
De’Von Achane is the only player we can be comfortable starting in this lineup while Tua Tagovailoa is out with a concussion. He handled the lion’s share of touches in Week 3, carrying the rock 11 times, while no other Dolphins RB had more than two carries. He was also the only Dolphins RB to receive a target last week. If Raheem Mostert plays, he likely isn’t worth starting outside of super-deep leagues. Achane profiles as a mid-to-low-end RB1 as a player who can break off a big play at any time, even in a dysfunctional offense. The Titans have a stout run defense, which may limit Achane’s ceiling slightly, but his involvement in the passing game means he should maintain a high floor and ceiling.
Wide Receiver
Tyreek Hill: Start, WR2
Jaylen Waddle: FLEX Option
It feels strange not to have these two talented receivers as automatic start options, but such is the reality of a Tua-less Miami offense. Both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle struggled in Week 3 without their starting quarterback, tallying just 40 and 26 yards, respectively. Hill still deserves to be started in all leagues as a WR2, if only due to his game-breaking speed. Waddle comes in as my WR40 this week and should be left out of lineups if you can manage it while we wait for Tua to return. His floor is simply too low in this version of this offense.
Tight End
Jonnu Smith: Sit, TE2
If the Dolphins’ stud receivers are questionable starts at best, there’s no reason Jonnu Smith should be near your lineups in Week 4. There’s a chance he catches a touchdown and delivers streaming value, but there are plenty of other options more likely to do so this week.
i feel like only the thursday game should be posted on thursday and the rest of the games on friday.. after this is posted there is so much more player news with practice sits etc that a lot of what youre writing is no longer valid and the opinion is void.
for example: damien pierce was limited just today. so akers should be a viable start if he doesnt play.
Hey, thanks for reading and commenting! We try to get all of our recommendations out on Thursday so that you have all that information in case you’re on the fence between a guy that plays on Thursday vs. Sunday. We don’t always have all of the information because of the timing with practice reports, but we try to update things as we get more info. As for the Texans backfield, I’m still a bit hesitant to recommend Akers, but he could have an easier time this week against the Jags than he did last week against the Vikings.
This list used to be a lot more nuanced in the past. Talking about #3 / #4 players and ranking them as such. Now it seems like every player if they’re not a #1 or #2 at their position they are simply a sit. I don’t need to know to start my top players it’s the flex ones in the middle I need a write up on. Wish this list was as thorough as years past.
Thanks for this feedback! We try and do our best to cover as many fantasy-relevant players as possible, and you can check out our list of weekly rankings to see how everyone stacks up. Is there a player or two I can help provide a more detailed breakdown of for you?
Having Anthony Richardson as a Start and Sam Darnold as a Sit is fantasy malpractice.
Hey, thanks for reading. I personally think Richardson has the higher ceiling this week with his rushing upside and Darnold has a hostile environment this week heading into Green Bay. If you personally want to see more out of Richardson before giving him the start again, I completely understand!
