Washington Commanders
Quarterback
Jayden Daniels: Start, QB1
Jayden Daniels has been absolutely incredible in NFL terms and for fantasy football. The rookie looks locked in right now, and he is getting better each week. As long as he is healthy, Daniels is an elite tier of fantasy quarterback. Arizona has been unspectacular, to say the least, against opposing Quarterbacks, and you can expect Daniels to once again eclipse the 200-yard passing mark and 50-yard rushing mark.
Running Back
Brian Robinson Jr.: Start, RB1
Brian Robinson Jr. has struggled with efficiency this season, but the Commanders just keep giving him the ball. Now that Austin Ekeler has been declared out with a concussion for Week 4, Robinson gets a small bump with the expected uptick in passing work. He comes in as a fringe RB1 for me this week as he faces the Cardinals, who are in the bottom half of the league, against opposing running backs this season. Another touchdown is in the cards for Robinson.
Wide Receiver
Terry McLaurin: Start, WR3/FLEX
Terry McLaurin is the only Commanders player that you can consider among the wide receivers, but even he has struggled to get going. In Week 3, he was able to haul in an absolute dime from Daniels on his way to scoring a touchdown. It was the first time all season that McLaurin had recorded more than 22 yards all season. Pushing the ball downfield will mean good things for McLaurin’s fantasy value. Now that we have seen glimpses of it, the hope is that it will continue. That being said, I wouldn’t assume this will be the case. McLaurin is my WR28 this week, but as he continues to develop chemistry with Daniels, he may find himself more regularly in the WR2 range.
Tight End
Zach Ertz: Sit
Zach Ertz is a low upside option at this point in his career, but if the trend from Weeks 2 and 3 continues, he could be a great floor play at a position that has been erratic at best this season.
Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback
Kyler Murray: Start, QB1
Kyler Murray continues to play well this season. In Week 3, he had a slight dip in performance as he had a turnover in a lower-scoring matchup than many were hoping for. The good news is he has another chance to blow up for fantasy managers in Week 4 against the Commanders, who have let up the most points to opposing Quarterbacks. Expect this one to be high-scoring, as both offenses are clicking right now and have electric players leading the way in Daniels and Murray.
Running Back
James Conner: Start, RB1
Trey Benson: Sit
James Conner is unquestionably the workhorse running back for the Arizona Cardinals right now. He had his first down game of the season last week against the Lions but should be able to bounce back against the Commanders, who have allowed an average of 100 yards on the ground per game. Conner is my RB10 on the week, and he has the added bonus in Full PPR leagues of regularly being involved as a receiver out of the backfield. So expect him to see an increase in targets if McBride were to miss time. Trey Benson is a handcuff right now, and there is not necessarily a reason you NEED to roster him in 10-man leagues or fewer.
Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison Jr.: Start, WR1
Michael Wilson: FLEX Option
Greg Dortch: Sit
Marvin Harrison Jr.’s talent is evident. He lands as the WR12 in full PPR leagues right now and should continue to find the endzone in 2024. As the offense adapts and he is used in more versatile ways, the ceiling is way higher than what we have seen so far for the former Buckeye. Michael Wilson is not someone I trust quite yet in my lineups, but he should be on benches in most leagues. If Greg Dortch, who is hampered by injury right now, were to miss any time OR if McBride were to indeed miss this week, Wilson would jump in my rankings, landing him in FLEX territory at the position.
UPDATE: With Trey McBride slated to miss this week’s game with a concussion, Michael Wilson becomes a solid FLEX option for your lineups. He saw nine targets in Week 3 and should see an uptick in usage with McBride out.
Tight End
Sit All
Trey McBride is unfortunately missing this game with a concussion, and Elijah Higgins is a risky touchdown-or-bust streamer at best. It’s best to look elsewhere at this position this week.
i feel like only the thursday game should be posted on thursday and the rest of the games on friday.. after this is posted there is so much more player news with practice sits etc that a lot of what youre writing is no longer valid and the opinion is void.
for example: damien pierce was limited just today. so akers should be a viable start if he doesnt play.
Hey, thanks for reading and commenting! We try to get all of our recommendations out on Thursday so that you have all that information in case you’re on the fence between a guy that plays on Thursday vs. Sunday. We don’t always have all of the information because of the timing with practice reports, but we try to update things as we get more info. As for the Texans backfield, I’m still a bit hesitant to recommend Akers, but he could have an easier time this week against the Jags than he did last week against the Vikings.
This list used to be a lot more nuanced in the past. Talking about #3 / #4 players and ranking them as such. Now it seems like every player if they’re not a #1 or #2 at their position they are simply a sit. I don’t need to know to start my top players it’s the flex ones in the middle I need a write up on. Wish this list was as thorough as years past.
Thanks for this feedback! We try and do our best to cover as many fantasy-relevant players as possible, and you can check out our list of weekly rankings to see how everyone stacks up. Is there a player or two I can help provide a more detailed breakdown of for you?
Having Anthony Richardson as a Start and Sam Darnold as a Sit is fantasy malpractice.
Hey, thanks for reading. I personally think Richardson has the higher ceiling this week with his rushing upside and Darnold has a hostile environment this week heading into Green Bay. If you personally want to see more out of Richardson before giving him the start again, I completely understand!
