Las Vegas Raiders
Quarterback
Gardner Minshew: Sit
Gardner Minshew is my QB27 for the week. He has been able to find a nice connection with rookie tight end Brock Bowers, which should serve him well as he fights to remain the team’s starter. It is one of the tougher matchups for tight ends, though, so Minshew will have to rely on spreading the ball around if he wants to find success. Not to mention he will be without Davante Adams.
Running Back
Zamir White: Sit
Alexander Mattison: Sit
Both Raiders’ running backs have little upside from week to week. They find themselves in a particularly difficult matchup this week against the Broncos, which is why Alexander Mattison lands as my RB36 and Zamir White as my RB37. There are better options for your FLEX at wide receiver this week.
Wide Receiver
Jakobi Meyers: Sit
Davante Adams has officially requested a trade and will not likely suit up for the Raiders ever again. Managers are in a wait-and-see mode for now. Jakobi Meyers will benefit from Adams’ absence but not this week as he faces a stout Broncos secondary. The volatility of the Raiders offense right now is best to avoid unless you are down one of the injured pass catchers.
Tight End
Brock Bowers: Start, TE1
The good news for Brock Bowers is that the tight-end position is a bit of a mess right now, and his role is more defined than most. Expect Bowers to see 5-8 targets this week in a matchup that may see him bounce back from two down weeks. The Broncos have allowed the seventh most points to tight ends this season, which is an exploitable matchup for the talented rookie.
Denver Broncos
Quarterback
Bo Nix: Sit
Bo Nix showed some signs of life two weeks ago but still, he is far off the radar for redraft fantasy football. Last week he had one of the lowest yardage totals of a winning quarterback in NFL history.
Running Back
Javonte Williams: Sit
Jaleel McLaughlin: Sit
Tyler Badie: Sit
Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin are both hamstrung by Bo Nix and the Broncos’ anemic offense. Williams has been inefficient on the ground, and McLaughlin has been inconsistent and rarely used. The offense is sputtering and may benefit from Audric Estime’s return from the IR in a few weeks. If you’re starting either back, it’s Williams, but I also wouldn’t fault you for dropping Williams. That is the current state of the Broncos run game. If you play in deep leagues and have a spot, throw Tyler Badie on your bench and see if he earns some more reps this week.
Wide Receiver
Courtland Sutton: Sit
Courtland Sutton saw 11 targets a week ago and followed it up with nine targets last week. Still, there is not much you can trust out of Denver for fantasy football purposes. Keep Sutton on your bench for now as the offense is entirely unreliable. One thing to keep an eye on is if he were to get traded to a wide receiver-needy team like the Chiefs. It would immediately create a jump in value for the veteran pass catcher.
Tight End
Greg Dulcich: Sit
Greg Dulcich’s targets dropped from eight to zero from Week 2 to Week 3 and then to one in Week 4. At this point, his ceiling is a middling TE2, so he can be dropped.
