Sit/Start 2026 Week 1: Reviewing All Fantasy Relevant Players in Every Game

Sit or Start recommendations for EVERY fantasy-relevant player in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season!

Game Info

Kickoff: Sunday, September 13, 2026, 4:25 PM ET

Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

Network: CBS

Green Bay Packers

Quarterback

Jordan Love: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

It’s simple. Minnesota allowed the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, the fewest passing touchdowns, and the second-fewest passing yards per game in 2025. Sit Jordan Love.

Running Back

MarShawn Lloyd: FLEX, RB3
Chris Brooks: SIT
Kaleb Johnson: SIT

MarShawn Lloyd is the expected starter with Josh Jacobs out until further notice, but he’s a risky FLEX play at best until we see how the touches are distributed. Against the Vikings, I’d much prefer to see how things go with Lloyd on the bench.

Wide Receiver

Christian Watson: START, WR3
Jayden Reed: FLEX, WR4
Matthew Golden: SIT

Remember all that stuff I said about the Vikings defense and how they basically shut down opposing quarterbacks? Ditto for receivers. Christian Watson has the juice to make your week with one big play, but a bust is more likely than a boom against this secondary.

Tight End

Tucker Kraft: START, TE1

Tucker Kraft was on his way to possibly being the TE1 overall before his season ended early due to a torn ACL. I expect him to remain a weekly TE1, and he looks on track to return Week 1.

Defense/Special Teams

Green Bay Packers: STREAMER

Kyler Murray.

Minnesota Vikings

Quarterback

Kyler Murray: START, QB1

Yeah, I just said this guy’s the reason the Packers defense is startable. But he’s also the reason they’re just a streamer (at least partly). Kyler Murray is an enigma; we’ve seen the highs and the lows, and full disclosure, this call is just on vibes. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 hasn’t been released yet, Murray has something to prove and is throwing to Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. My bold-ish call for Week 1: Murray is a top 10 fantasy quarterback.

Running Back

Aaron Jones Sr.: SIT
Jordan Mason: FLEX, RB3
Demond Claiborne: SIT

I’ve made it no secret that I think Aaron Jones Sr. is washed, and I wouldn’t start him even in Aaron Jones-only leagues. Jordan Mason is a risky RB2/FLEX option but always has that ceiling thanks to his explosiveness.

Wide Receiver

Justin Jefferson: START, WR1
Jordan Addison: FLEX, WR3
Jauan Jennings: SIT

Justin Jefferson is going to remind the haters who he really is this season, starting Week 1. Jordan Addison is pretty good too and is part of the WR3/4 conglomeration of mid-round picks facing mid-tier passing defenses in Week 1. I have him as my WR39 this week, behind names like Chris Godwin Jr. and Carnell Tate, but ahead of players like Courtland Sutton and Jayden Reed. I’m not ready to start Jauan Jennings yet, but if Murray really clicks in Minnesota, he’s got some WR3 upside.

Tight End

T.J. Hockenson: SIT

The last time T.J. Hockenson was fantasy relevant, I only had two kids. (My youngest is three and a half).

Defense/Special Teams

Minnesota Vikings: START

Arguably the best defense in the entire NFL.
