Kickoff: Sunday, September 13, 2026, 4:25 PM ET

Location: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA

Network: CBS

Arizona Cardinals

Quarterback

Jacoby Brissett: SIT

Possibly the top waiver pickup of 2025, Jacoby Brissett was a godsend in a season that saw quarterbacks succumbing to injury at every turn. But the Chargers defense allowed just 20 touchdowns to quarterbacks last season (second-fewest) to go along with the second-fewest fantasy points to the position.

Running Back

Jeremiyah Love: START, RB2
Tyler Allgeier: SIT
James Conner: OUT

If it weren’t for the talent and potential volume with Trey Benson released and James Connor hurt, Jeremiyah Love would be bench-bound against the Chargers. San Diego Los Angeles allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points and just twelve touchdowns to the position. Yes, Tyler Allgeier is listed as the “starter” right now, but Love is the more athletic and exciting option of the two and would be the only RB to play as long as he suits up.

Wide Receiver

Marvin Harrison Jr: START, WR3
Michael Wilson: FLEX, WR4
Kendrick Bourne: SIT

The Marvin Harrison Jr. breakout season is upon us… it just probably starts next week. The Chargers allowed just 10 touchdowns to receivers last season and were a bottom-five points-per-game matchup for the position. Both Marv and Michael Wilson belong in nearly all starting lineups, but they could both have lean statlines to start the season.

Tight End

Trey McBride: START, TE1

He good.

Defense/Special Teams

Arizona Cardinals: SIT

The Chargers’ implied team total is the highest in the league at the time of writing, nearly 30 points.

Los Angeles Chargers

Quarterback

Justin Herbert: START, QB1

A dark horse for QB1 overall this season, I’ve said it ad nauseam how excited I am to see what Justin Herbert will be able to do in Mike McDaniel‘s offense. I expect fireworks in Week 1 and Herbie to go Bananas.

Running Back

Omarion Hampton: START, RB1
Keaton Mitchell: SIT
Kimani Vidal: SIT

Omarion Hampton is my RB1 overall for Week 1. Even if he doesn’t get bell cow volume, his explosiveness in a Mike McDaniel offense against a Cardinals defense that allowed the third-most fantasy points and third-most touchdowns to the position is mouthwatering.

Wide Receiver

Ladd McConkey: START, WR1
Quentin Johnston: START, WR3

Tre’ Harris: SIT

Good matchup. Mike McDaniel at OC. That pretty much sums it up. Ladd McConkey is one of my favorite bounce-back candidates for the season, and we all saw the fireworks the Herbie-QJ connection can have in this preseason play:

Tight End

Charlie Kolar: SIT
David Njoku: SIT
Oronde Gadsden: SIT

Good luck trying to start the right Chargers tight end on a weekly basis.

Defense/Special Teams

Los Angeles Chargers: START

Top five in yards per game, top 10 in sacks and forced turnovers, the Chargers DST is locked in as a weekly fantasy start.
