Los Angeles Rams

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford (Start)

Matt Stafford prior to these past two weeks was an MVP candidate and someone who was doing great things with his new team. While this Packers defense has been impressive against quarterbacks like Pat Mahomes and Kyler Murray. It was last week’s performance against Kirk Cousins that has me optimistic in Stafford returning to form. The Packers struggled to get to Cousins giving him ample time to throw for 341 yards and three touchdowns. I expect Cooper Kupp and company to handle the Packers’ secondary, giving Stafford plenty of options downfield. Fire up all shares of Stafford that you have, this looks like a good matchup for his bounce-back game.

Running Backs

Darrell Henderson (Start), Sony Michel (Sit)

Darrell Henderson will be going against a pretty good run defense. Green Bay has allowed 17.2 fantasy pts/game to opposing running backs, which ranks as the 10th fewest in the NFL. Henderson has gotten more involved in the passing game in the past two weeks, getting 10 targets and catching 7 receptions. Henderson will be faced with a stiff challenge in this matchup, but I still think he’s a bonafide RB2 against the Packers. Sony Michel isn’t playable unless Henderson is out.

Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Cooper Kupp (Start), Van Jefferson (Flex), Tyler Higbee (Start), Odell Beckham (Sit)

Cooper Kupp has six games with 100+ yards, four games with two touchdowns, and nine games with 10 or more targets. I don’t think I need to say more, you start him and expect a WR1 week out of him. Van Jefferson has gotten 27 targets in the last four games, and with Robert Woods out for the season I think Jefferson will benefit greatly. He’s a solid flex this week. Odell Beckham Jr still needs to prove he’s not going to be a nuisance in LA. In his first game, OBJ got three targets and was ineffective for the most part. Sit OBJ until he proves he’s good enough to start. Tyler Higbee has received 15 targets in the past two games and has averaged four catches a game over the past four weeks. I think this is a game that Higbee can be targeted five eight times, which makes him a startable tight end.

Green Bay Packers

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers (Start)

Aaron Rodgers looked like the 2020 MVP last Sunday against the Vikings. Throwing for 385 yards and 4 TDs while not throwing an interception. There’s no telling how his turf toe is going to affect him long-term, but the Rams have been a great pass-rushing defense collecting 29 sacks this year, third-most in the league. Last week the Rams defense showed they are vulnerable to a run-centric offense with a decent QB. Rodgers has to be a start in this game, even in a tough matchup, look for him to still be a potential QB1.

Running Backs

AJ Dillon (Start)

AJ Dillon, aka the Quadfather, has been great in relief of Aaron Jones. Dillon cashed in on two TDs against the Seahawks in week 10 and went for 97 total scrimmage yards in week 11. Dillon looks like a monster in the open field and has gotten 12 targets in three games. Look for Dillon to have plenty of opportunities in this game to be a RB2 with the potential for RB1 numbers.

Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Devante Adams (Start), Marques Valdes-Scantling (Flex)

I don’t think I have to tell you to start Davante Adams, and if I do then we’ve got other things to talk about. Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the other hand is and interesting case. He’s made a career of breaking out then going cold or getting injured. MVS got 10 targets and scored on a 75 yard bomb to tie up the game. Until Valdes-Scantling proves he can be consistent then he’s no better than a flex.
