San Francisco 49ers

Quarterback

Jimmy Garoppolo (Qb2/Sit)

This matchup is a juicy one but it is hard to suggest starting Jimmy G right now with his inconsistent play. The Seahawks are in the bottom of the league in terms of passing yards given up but Garoppolo has failed to eclipse 14 points in three of his last four games. Jimmy G will also be without his top weapon, Deebo Samuel.

Running Backs

Jerick McKinnon (Flex/RB3), JaMycal Hasty (Flex/RB3), Jeff Wilson Jr. (Sit), Raheem Mostert (Sit/Injured), Tevin Coleman (Sit)
McKinnon had been the main benefactor with Mostert out earlier in the season but last week he only totaled three touches. Kyle Shanahan claimed that it was due to rest and that he didn’t want to push McKinnon. However, he should get a ton more work this week with Jeff Wilson Jr. suffering a high ankle sprain last week. It seems Tevin Coleman has still not returned from IR and is questionable for this week. Hasty could also receive a lot more carries with Mostert and Wilson Jr. out. I have Hasty and McKinnon ranked similarly this week.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

Brandon Aiyuk (Start/WR2), Kendrick Bourne (Sit) George Kittle (Start, TE1), Deebo Samuel (Sit/Injured)

Aiyuk is now the main weapon in the Niners’ passing attack. With Deebo now out, Aiyuk has a big opportunity, coming off his career-high in receiving yards and matching up with the Seahawks’ poor secondary. Aiyuk could potentially finish as a top-10 WR this week but temper expectations with the way Jimmy G has played. Bourne has shown some flashes but there is no reason to trust him other than a desperation flex. Kittle is a bonafide TE1 and an autostart.

Seattle Seahawks

Quarterback

Russell Wilson (Start, QB1)

Mr. Unlimited came up just short last week in an overtime thriller. He had a whopping 50 passing attempts last week and added six rushes for 84 yards. However, he also had three picks and one of them was game-sealing and gave the Cardinals the win. There is no way you can even think about sitting him though and you will gladly take three picks for the kind of production he is putting up.

Running Backs

Chris Carson (Injured, RB2 if plays), Carlos Hyde (Start/RB2 if Carson out), Deejay Dallas (Sit), Travis Homer (Sit)

Carson left last week’s contest with a foot injury and opened the door to Hyde, who had 18 touches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Carson is now being called a game-time decision, which would lead to a nice opportunity for Hyde. There is concern that Hyde is having hamstring tightness and if that becomes a problem, the next man up would most likely be Deejay Dallas. This is an injury situation to monitor all week.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

DK Metcalf (Start, WR1), Tyler Lockett (Start, WR1), Greg Olsen (Sit), Will Dissly (Sit)

Wow, what a game from Lockett last week. Is there any question that he and Metcalf are 1A and 1B in this offense? They are also automatic starts each week. Each one of them is WR1 this week but SF isn’t a cupcake matchup. The Niner’s are giving up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to receivers at the moment, so perhaps temper expectations. Anything this week will pale in comparison to Lockett’s game last week obviously. The two tight ends for the Seahawks are off the radar.
