- With no byes and a primarily healthy position, now is the time for running back-heavy rosters to thrive. There are 16 running backs who should all be fighting to finish as RB1 candidates this week, with a few who fall just outside this group who can make a run at the top tier as well. Some of my favorite names in the top 25 this week are Jonathan Taylor, Travis Etienne, Javonte Williams, and Najee Harris. Each should see plenty of volume and have matchups fantasy managers should be excited to take advantage of.
- The next tier, RB26-38, has a number of backs who have potential but are in some messier situations that are hard to predict this early in the season. This tier is full of names, and I am okay starting in the FLEX in week one if you went heavy at the running back position in the mid to late rounds. Some of my favorites are Austin Ekeler, Brian Robinson, Chase Brown, Tyjae Spears, and JK Dobbins.
- The final tier here is mostly for deep leagues or desperation plays, which aren’t usually necessary this early in the season. That being said, we want to provide you with as much information as possible, and there are some great names to keep an eye on in week one OR even add to your bench before week one if you have the space available. My favorites are Zach Charbonnet, Blake Corum, Trey Benson, Ray Davis, Bucky Irving, Roschon Johnson, and Braelon Allen.
