The final preseason game for both the Packers and Seahawks was a chance for each team to figure out who fits into their 53 man roster plans. We got to see Jordan Love, AJ Dillon and Christian Watson on the Packers side while the Seahawks rest all their major stars.

Three Up

  • Rookie WR Jake Bobo made a case for making the 53-man roster, catching two of three targets for 27 yards and a TD.
  • Jordan Love looked comfortable running the offense, throwing a touchdown before exiting on the Packers third drive.
  • Easop Winston Jr made an impression in the last preseason game as both a receiver and a punt returner.

One Down

  • Sean Clifford missed on two deep passes and was underwhelming for two quarters of the game.

Quarterback

Drew Lock: 16/25, 150 yards, TD | 3 carries, 5 yards

Drew Lock played almost the entire game. Lock had a very “Drew Lock” game, there was good, bad and ugly. Starting off with the good. He still can hurl it down field with accuracy, on one play in particular he channeled his inner Russell Wilson and found Cade Johnson downfield on a broken play. It was a great throw and catch, the only issue was Johnson couldn’t stay in bounds. Another aspect of Lock’s game that impressed me was his ability to read and react. Lock has been known as a gunslinger for so long that we almost forgot what a five yard check down looked like from him. He impressed me with his short throw accuracy and ability to take the checkdown rather than go for the home run.

The bad and the ugly can be tied to a pass in the first quarter that was a simple curl, but was read by the corner and almost taken straight to the house for six. While Lock looks better, he’s still always remembered for being a turnover machine at times and this play was a blast from the past.

Missed Opportunities

  • Deep shot to Cade Johnson that could’ve been a 30 yard gain.

Holton Alhers: 5/10, 55 yards, INT | 2 carries, 8 yards

Running Back

Zach Charbonnet: 3 carries, 1 yards | 1 target, 1 reception, 6 yards

Zach Charbonnet got the first snaps and didn’t look impressive on the ground. He was stuffed on each of his three carries but showed up in the receiving game with six yards on a checkdown pass.

DeeJay Dallas: 4 carries, 43 yards | 1 target, 1 reception, 2 yards

Dallas looked in midseason form, peeling off back to back big runs and finding the hole with relative ease. On his final drive he rattled off ten yard, 27 yard and five yard carries, helping to propel the Seahawks to their first TD of the game.

SaRodorick Thompson: 7 carries, 17 yards, TD | 4 targets, 3 receptions, 16 yards

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Easop Winston: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 74 yards

Easop Winston really left a good impression this week. He brought back a punt for 21 yards and caught a 33 yard deep route that was one yard shy of a touchdown. In this game he caught two passes for 30 plus yards and helped put Seattle back into the game. He’s someone who may bring some special teams value to the final 53 man roster.

Missed Opportunities

  • Got stopped on the one yard line.

Jake Bobo: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 27 yards

Jake Bobo might be one of the slowest receivers recorded at the combine. He makes up for it with his ability to separate. Bobo caught the first touchdown for the Seahawks and did it by separating on a post route and making it easy for Lock to find him. The broadcast talked Bobo up as a coachable and resilent young man who wants to play football and it showed on Saturday.

Tyjon Lindsey: 3 targets, 1 reception, 24 yards

Cade Johnson: 3 targets, 1 reception, 6 yards

Colby Parkinson: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 11 yards

Matt Landers: 3 targets, 2 reception, 10 yards

Tyler Mabry: 2 targets, 1 reception, 7 yards

Griffin Hebert: 2 targets, 1 reception, 6 yards

Sal Canella: 1 targets, 1 receptions, 5 yards

Green Bay Packers

| Preseason Week 1 | Preseason Week 2 |

Quarterback

Jordan Love: 9/15, 63 yards, TD | 3 carries, 21 yards

Jordan Love showed off the rushing abilty that propelled him to 9 rushing TDs at BYU. He looks comfortable running the offense. His release is quick and Love has enough mobility to avoid sacks and get first downs. Some of his downsides were his ball placement. Love was often throwing behind drag routes and underthrew Christian Watson deep. He also joined a rare group of QBs to catch their own pass, but overall he looks ready to step into his new role as the head honcho in Green Bay.

Missed Opportunites

  • Love wasn’t leading his receivers well and underthrew Watson on a deep pass.

Sean Clifford: 8/12, 46 yards | 4 carries, 9 yards

Alex McGough: 4/5, 69 yards | 2 carries, 4 yards

Running Back

AJ Dillon: 5 carries, 24 yards

AJ Dillon came out of the gate breaking tackles on a 14 yard run, looking strong and then he didn’t. After that run he seemed to go down rather easily once he was tackled. Dillon looked good in pass protection, and is for sure going to be heavily involved in this offense in 2023.

Emmanuel Wilson:  17 carries, 49 yards | 2 targets, 2 receptions, 9 yards

Nate McCrary:  7 carries, 24 yards, TD

Patrick Taylor:  6 carries, 24 yards | 1 target, 1 reception, 8 yards

Rookie Zach Evans started the second half and never found much room to get going on his limited touches.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Malik Heath: 7 targets, 4 receptions, 35 yards

Malik Heath was able to attack the defense at all levels of the field. He caught all of his receptions in the middle of the field and separated well. He almost had a deep touchdown but was overthrown by Sean Clifford.

Jadakis Bond:  2 targets, 2 receptions, 60 yards

Samouri Toure:  4 targets, 2 receptions, 16 yards

Luke Musgrave: 2 targets, 2 receptions, 15 yards

Christian Watson: 3 targets, 1 reception, 6 yards

Christian Watson got some time in this game and missed out on a chance to get on the same level with Jordan Love. He did catch a touchdown but was underthrown on a deep ball that he still had his hands on. Watson is going to be a huge part of this offense and needs to work out the timing kinks with his new QB.

Cody Crest:  1 target, 1 reception, 8 yards

Grant Dubose:  1 target, 1 reception, 8 yards

Tucker Kraft: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 7 yards

Jayden Reed:  3 targets, 1 reception, 7 yards | 1 carry, 8 yards
