FOOTBALL!
The NFL season is finally here, and there is nothing more exciting than heading into Thursday Night Football for the first matchup of the year. The optimism is sky-high, and you’ve spent the past week looking at your starting lineup with confidence. Is this the team that finally brings you home the championship in your Home League, or the one that sends you on a one-way ticket to the Toilet Bowl? Drafting the perfect team is hard, and setting the perfect lineup every week is even harder. While nobody is ever perfect, we here at QB List are here to make your jobs as easy as possible and increase your chances at bringing home that oh-so-coveted championship in our weekly Sit/Start series. The goal of this series is simple–to briefly go over every game and show you the players you should (and shouldn’t) trust to bring home the W for you every week, starting with Week 1.
Sit/Start is relatively easy in Week 1. We have our rankings, and we can lean heavily on the “Start Your Studs” strategy. So, while this week’s Start/Sit breakdowns may have some simple notes, they also have notes of a few great options to keep an eye on or add right before the games start to get ahead of that initial run of waivers, which can be costly for those of you using FAAB or waiver priority. As always, you can check out my list of weekly rankings (now with extra rankings from additional writers!) to complement these sit/start recommendations.
Some quick notes before you jump in:
- Remember, sits/Starts and Rankings are not set in stone. They are tools to guide you, not rules to follow blindly. Use them to shape your own decisions and make the best lineup adjustments for your team. Good Matchups are great, but getting too cute can cost you the week. Ask yourself this: “Am I going to feel more tortured by benching player X and him going off, or not playing player Y?”
- Have fun, talk trash, and win your matchups. If you don’t, there’s always next week.
Let’s dive in and start the season on a high note!
