Houston Texans
Quarterback
C.J. Stroud: SIT, QB2 (Startable in SuperFlex)
Until we see the Texans’ offensive line give CJ Stroud a semblance of protection, he’ll be a matchup-dependent streamer. Against the Rams’ ferocious pass rush, he’s a firm sit for in 1QB leagues.
Running Back
Nick Chubb: SIT
Dameon Pierce: SIT
Woody Marks: SIT
I’m not starting the ghost of Nick Chubb or whatever Dameon Pierce is considered at this point in his career. Woody Marks is the only Texans running back I’m remotely interested in, but he’s nothing more than a stash at this point. All three RBs are outside of my top 40 this week.
Wide Receiver
Nico Collins: START, WR1
Christian Kirk: START, WR3 *missed practice Wednesday
Jayden Higgins: FLEX, WR4
Jaylin Noel: SIT
No matter the matchup, Nico Collins is starting for your fantasy team. Christian Kirk popped up on the injury report late in the week with a hamstring injury. If he were to miss Week 1, rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are both streaming options, with the edge going to Higgins as the player with more upside.
Tight End
Dalton Schultz: SIT
Meh floor, low ceiling, praying for a touchdown. That’s a McDouble.
Los Angeles Rams
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford: SIT
I’m not starting Matthew Stafford anywhere until I see him make it through at least one game and take a big hit.
Running Back
Kyren Williams: START, RB2
Blake Corum: SIT
Jarquez Hunter: SIT
High-volume, low-efficiency plodder Kyren Williams will still see the majority of touches for the Rams. But if offseason whispers of Blake Corum and Jarquez Hunter spelling Williams more than seasons past, Williams’ floor suddenly goes bye-bye.
Wide Receiver
Puka Nacua: START, WR1
Davante Adams: START, WR2
Tutu Atwell: SIT
Whether Stafford, Jimmy G, Eli Manning, or Al Bundy are under center, as long as Sean McVay remains the coach of the Los Angeles Rams, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams belong in your fantasy lineup.
Tight End
Tyler Higbee: SIT
