Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa: SIT
The Week 7 stat line for Tua Tagovailoa looks like a typo: 12 completions on 23 attempts for only 100 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions. It was his second game in a row with three picks, two being terrible, panicked decisions by Tua, and the third an overthrow to De’Von Achane that became a gift-wrapped turnover. He also fumbled three times, but miraculously didn’t lose any. Miami still outgained Cleveland 219 yards to 206, yet could only muster two field goals. All this led to Tua being benched for rookie Quinn Ewers in the fourth quarter. He should also be benched in all fantasy formats until further notice, and a permanent real-life benching may not be too far off.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: START, RB1
Ollie Gordon II: SIT
You don’t need me to tell you to start Devon Achane, but did you know he was a two-sport All-American at Texas A&M? He earned honors not just for football, but also for track and field, showcasing his truly elite speed.
Wide Receiver
Jaylen Waddle: START, WR3
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: SIT
Malik Washington: SIT
Jaylen Waddle was collateral damage of Tua Tagovailoa‘s complete implosion. Waddle registered his worst game of the season with just 1 reception for 15 yards on four targets. He’s a top wideout tethered to a collapsing offense and a (probably) soon-to-be-bench quarterback. Waddle remains a low-end WR2 because he is the lone remaining pass-catching option on a team that will be playing from behind constantly. But heading down to Hotlanta to take on the en fuego Falcons defense allowing the second fewest fantasy points to the position? He’s still a start in leagues that start three wide receivers and/or two FLEXs, but I wouldn’t push back if you wanted to bench him.
Tight End
Darren Waller (Placed on IR)

Can anybody tell me if the Dolphins have a tight end on their roster?
Defense/Special Teams
Miami Dolphins: SIT
The Dolphins are one of three teams to allow a total of 200 or more points through the first seven weeks of the season.
Atlanta Falcons
Quarterback
Michael Penix Jr.: START, Borderline QB1
Thank goodness the Michael Penix Jr. injury scare at the end of the 49ers game turned out to be much ado about nothing. Miami is allowing the sixth most fantasy points to the position, including 7.9 passing yards per attempt, and has just one interception. With a fantastic matchup on deck and so many quarterbacks on bye, Penix ascends to a borderline QB1.
Running Back
Bijan Robinson: START, RB1
Tyler Allgeier: FLEX, RB3
You don’t need me to tell you to start Bijan Robinson, but did you know his childhood sports idol was NBA superstar LeBron James? (Side note: Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T.) He called meeting with LeBron surreal, saying, “LeBron’s my favorite athlete”. Miami is the only defense that’s allowed over 1,000 rushing yards already, giving up nearly 160 per game. Considering the flaccid state of the Dolphins’ offense and Atlanta’s dominant defense, the game script should set up Tyler Allgeier to get some run and make for a fine FLEX or bye week replacement.
Wide Receiver
Drake London: START, WR1
Darnell Mooney: FLEX, WR4
Drake London has a FANTASTIC matchup on paper, but I have him a tad lower than the rest of my QB List ranking brethren for good reason. Believe it or not, Miami is giving up the sixth fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. What!? Why?! How!? Well, see, when you have an offense scoring less than 20 points per game, and a defense getting steamrolled by the run, and you ALSO happen to have arguably the best running back in the league, chances are you won’t have to throw the ball a whole lot. London is obviously still a must-start, but the Dolphins won’t put up enough of a fight to force Michael Penix to air it out. In turn, it limits the Week 8 upside of London and prevents me from considering Darnell Mooney anything more than a FLEX play.
Tight End
Kyle Pitts Sr.: START, TE1
Kyle Pitts tied a season high in receptions with seven in Week 7 and saw his first game with double-digit targets. Although his 18.8% target share should regress with the return of Darnell Mooney, Pitts has enough of an established role to consider him a borderline TE1 most weeks. Facing a Dolphins defense allowing the 10th most fantasy points to the position, Week 8 is most weeks.
Defense/Special Teams
Atlanta Falcons: START
In the two games since coming off their bye, the Falcons have allowed a combined 34 points while racking up five sacks, one forced fumble, and three interceptions. They’re my top defense for the week, facing an imploding Miami team.
