Washington Commanders

Quarterback

Taylor Heinicke (Sit)

Despite the fact that the Commanders are winners of three in a row, Taylor Heinicke isn’t really a reason why. He’s turned the ball over a bit, throwing two interceptions in that span, with two fumbles to his name as well; one of which was lost. He only has two passing touchdowns, which came last week against the Falcons. This offense is not very pass-heavy, which doesn’t give Heinicke much of a streaming appeal, even with Kyler Murray on BYE this week. It also doesn’t help his case that the Giants are giving up the eighth fewest fantasy points to QBs this season.

Running Backs

Brian Robinson Jr. (Start, RB2), Antonio Gibson (Sit)

Brian Robinson Jr. had a nice game in the win against Atlanta last week, rushing for 105 yards on 18 carries, and turning two receptions into 20 yards and a score. He out-touched Antonio Gibson 22 to 12 on the ground, but this backfield still remains a timeshare on the weekly. The preference pick is Robinson over Gibson at this stage if you had to start one, though there may be a path where if you are in a bind, you can consider Gibson a FLEX. It’s worth noting that the Giants just allowed Ezekiel Elliott to rush for 92 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, and Tony Pollard 60 yards on 18 carries on Thanksgiving.

Wide Receivers/Tight End

Terry McLaurin (Start, WR3), Curtis Samuel (Sit), Logan Thomas (Sit), John Bates (Sit)

It’s been a down two weeks for Terry McLaurin, who has eight scoreless receptions on 13 total targets in that span. He hasn’t amassed over 100 yards since Week 10 and hasn’t found the end zone since Week 7. The Giants’ defense is allowing the fourth fewest points to WRs this fantasy season, which pegs McLaurin as a WR3 this week in a run-first offense with Heinicke under center. Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson can be left out of your lineups, which is a bit frustrating for Samuel owners considering his strong production earlier in the year. Tight ends Logan Thomas and John Bates, who scored last week against the Falcons, are not recommended streamers.

New York Giants

Quarterback

Daniel Jones (Sit)

Week 12 against Dallas was Daniel Jones’ worst fantasy game since Week 8. He completed 21 of 35 attempts for 228 yards and just one touchdown, which came with eight seconds left in the game. Over the last three weeks, he hasn’t used his legs all that much, averaging just 29.3 rush yards per game. Washington is giving up the 14th fewest fantasy points to QBs on the year, and Jones won’t be a recommended streamer in this one.

Running Back

Saquon Barkley (Start, RB1)

A touchdown on Thanksgiving saved Saquon Barkley’s fantasy day, as he only managed to rush for 39 yards on 11 carries against the Cowboys. He also caught four of five targets for 13 yards. Look for Barkley to regain his true RB1 workload this week, but keep in mind that the Commanders are allowing the fourth-fewest points to RBs this fantasy season. Barkley is eight rushing yards away from 1,000 on the season, and his current 992 has him ranked for fourth most in the league.

Wide Receivers/Tight End

Darius Slayton (Start, FLEX), Richie James Jr. (Sit), Kenny Golladay (Sit), Daniel Bellinger (Sit)

Week 12 was Darius Slayton’s first ‘down’ week in recent games, but he still managed to have a near 10-point outing in full-PPR formats. His three catches for 63 yards were good for 9.30 points, his lowest total since Week 6 (2.80). The defacto Giants WR1 sees his share of targets but ultimately is a TD-dependent FLEX most weeks. Kenny Golladay continues to hold no fantasy relevancy, and Richie James Jr. is an interesting name off the wire this week. He’s scored in back-to-back games, but hasn’t broken 50 receiving yards either week and only has eight receptions total in that span. In fact, most of his production, including the score, came in garbage time last week. Tight end Daniel Bellinger could be back this week from eye surgery dating back to Week 8, but can’t be trusted as a streaming option just yet.

  1. McKinzie says:

Thought on Pats DST this week over Minnesota? Could be 4-5 sacks and a couple TO’s no?

  2. brian g kelly says:

got to start one if Fields can’t go – Marcus Mariota or Kenny Pickett

    • Dustin Ludke says:

They are so close. I will go with Pickett. Pitts D is giving up the fewest points to quarterbacks while ATL is giving up the 10th most. Both Qbs have some rushing upside. Pickett has 265 passing attempts and Mariota has 276 yet he has played 11 games and Pickett had played 8 but really only 7, higher volume for Pickett and better matchup

  3. Jakob says:

You have Davante listed as a WR2 but describe him as a high-end WR1. Which one is it?
