New England Patriots

Quarterback

Drake Maye: Streaming Option

Drake Maye has looked the part since making his NFL debut. He has had his troubles with turnovers, but that was to be expected to some degree. With easily the worst supporting cast of any rookie quarterback this season, Maye has proven that he belongs. He is my QB13 on the week right now, which makes him a streamable option for those who are down a starting QB due to the bye week. Maye provides a nice floor with his legs.

Running Back

Rhamondre Stevenson: Start, RB2

Rhamondre Stevenson has a chance to be one of the biggest fantasy winners for the rest of the NFL season. He has an incredible schedule ahead, and Week 12 could be just the beginning for the veteran back. Stevenson had been fueled by volume as his offensive line and efficiency leaves a lot of room for improvement, but when it comes to fantasy football, that is all that really matters. I expect him to land in the 18-25 touch range in Week 12.

Wide Receiver

DeMario Douglas: FLEX Option, WR4
Kayshon Boutte: Sit

The reality is there are better options than the Patriots wide receivers, and there has been all season. If you are in a full PPR league and in a pinch, DeMario Douglas should see enough volume to register in matchups. Kayshon Boutte has had a nice resurgence this season, but I don’t expect many big play opportunities for New England in this one, which is why he is a firm sit for me.

Tight End

Hunter Henry: Start, TE1

Hunter Henry is in a similar situation to Stevenson, with a ton of volume coming his way since Drake Maye’s takeover. He is seeing seven targets per game in that time, and it is a trend that should continue this season. Miami has allowed the 13th most points to opposing tight ends this season, so while they aren’t a walk in the park, Henry’s volume should be enough to have him flirt with low-end TE1 numbers in most leagues.

Miami Dolphins

Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa: Streaming Option

Tua Tagovailoa is once again a low-ceiling, low-floor option for fantasy purposes, especially with a drop in performance from the Dolphins’ top two wide receivers. He is a streamer option, but I would not get my hopes up in this one, as the Patriots’ defense has been strong for much of the season.

Running Back

De’Von Achane: Start, RB1

As long as Tua is playing quarterback, De’Von Achane is a must-start player. He is averaging over 20 fantasy points per game when the two are in the starting lineup. Achane has seen a ton of usage as a pass catcher, often leading the Dolphins in target share, which is a rare feat for running backs and one that ensures fantasy football stardom. Fire Achane up and never look back.

Wide Receiver

Tyreek Hill: Start, WR2
Jaylen Waddle: FLEX Option, WR3

It feels insane to say that Tyreek Hill is a WR2 and even crazier to say that Jaylen Waddle as a FLEX may be ranking him at his ceiling, but here we are. Hill is dealing with a wrist injury that may be hampering his play, but his target volume has been erratic, and his production with that volume has been the same. Hill is a mid to low-range WR2 this week unless he can find the end zone, and I don’t know if Miami looks his way or needs to rely on him much in this one.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith: Start, TE1

Jonnu Smith has been one of the most utilized players in the Dolphins’ offense over the course of the last four weeks. In Week 12, he has a good matchup as the Patriots rank in the middle of the league against opposing tight ends. He saw eight targets last week and was able to find the end zone, and while I don’t like to predict touchdowns often, it appears like this is a matchup where he could find a similar stat line ahead of him.

  1. Garrett Walker says:

If Sam Darnold is not a must sit then why is he labeled “Sit”?

    Why not label him “QB2”?

    • We base our rankings on single-QB leagues since they’re the most common, so any QB outside of our top 12 would technically be labeled a “Sit.” We try to provide some insight in terms of if they’re a viable streamer or start in SF leagues as well, but that’s our general process for that position!
