Houston Texans
Quarterback
C.J. Stroud: SIT, QB2 (startable in Superflex)
C.J. Stroud has struggled mightily in his third NFL season, but he had his best game of the season against a solid Titans defense. Stroud threw for a season-high 233 passing yards (yeah, I know) and multiple touchdowns for the first time this season. He’s too dangerous a start for 1QB leagues, but facing the Ravens, he’s startable in Superflex.
Running Back
Woody Marks: START, RB2
Nick Chubb: FLEX, RB3
Dare Ogunbowale
The Woody Marks takeover is officially upon us! He put up his biggest game yet, rushing 17 times for 69 yards and two touchdowns, while adding four catches for 50 yards. He out-touched and flat-out out-produced Nick Chubb. Shoutout to our very own Eric Romoff, who has been touting Marks since Day 1 (and had him in his “Next Week’s Waivers Today” article for the past two weeks. Check out who he says is the next Woody Marks here).
A juicy matchup against the Ravens awaits, allowing the most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Considering the matchup, Chubb makes for a decent flex. But this backfield belongs to Marks; fire him up as an RB2.
Wide Receiver
Nico Collins: START, WR1
Christian Kirk: FLEX, WR4
Jayden Higgins: SIT
A top-three fantasy matchup for quarterbacks and a top-five for receivers, Week 5 against the Ravens has “get right game” for Nico Collins and the Texans’ offense all over it written all over it. Christian Kirk has 12 targets over his first two games in Houston and is a decent dart throw flex based on the matchup.
Tight End
Dalton Schultz: STREAMER
Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, McDouble.
Defense/Special Teams
Houston Texans: STREAMER
Cooper Rush is starting for the Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens
Quarterback
Lamar JacksonCooper Rush: SIT
Don’t even think about it. Not only is he Cooper Rush, but Houston also allows the second-fewest points to opposing quarterbacks.
Running Back
Derrick Henry: START, RB2
Justice Hill: FLEX, RB3
We have to talk about King Henry and the volume crisis. Derrick Henry ran for 50 or fewer yards for the third straight game, rushing just eight times for 42 yards against the Chiefs. Justice Hill played a large role in the passing game and was the beneficiary of a garbage-time 71-yard touchdown run. While Lamar Jackson is out, Henry could be leaned on more — the Ravens will have to establish the run game to protect Rush. Henry is still a weekly must-start, but his once-solid floor is no more. You are playing him for the ceiling, but you have to acknowledge his low-volume risk.
Wide Receiver
Zay Flowers: START, WR2
Rashod Bateman: SIT
Tylan Wallace: SIT
The good news is we saw Rush immediately pepper Zay Flowers with five targets after coming in for the injured Jackson. Flowers drops to a low-end WR2 with Rush, but the volume seems guaranteed. No other Ravens receiver is worth starting with Rush under center.
Tight End
Mark Andrews: STREAMER
Mark Andrews is a riskier start than usual with Rush under center, but he’s probably still worth the risk given the landscape at tight end.
Defense/Special Teams
Baltimore Ravens: SIT
The Ravens are allowing a league-high 33.3 points per game.
