New England Patriots
Quarterback
Drake Maye: START, QB1
A top-five fantasy quarterback on the season, totaling eight touchdowns over the last three games, Drake Maye is flirting with must-start status in all formats. The Bills are a formidable opponent, but still allow a palatable 17.4 points per game to opposing QBs. Though it’ll be a hostile environment in this divisional matchup, Maye is going to need to make plays happen to keep up with Josh Allen and company.
Running Back
TreVeyon Henderson: FLEX, RB3
Rhamondre Stevenson: FLEX, RB3
Antonio Gibson: SIT
TreVeyon Henderson scored his first rushing touchdown of the career, but he’s buried in committee. He averaged 16 routes over the first three weeks, but in Week 4, he ran a pathetic five routes! I just don’t get why Mike Vrabel insists on this three-way split with Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. The Bills are an ok matchup, but I want as many pieces of this game as I can get with an implied game total close to 50. Henderson still has the highest upside, but while the backfield is a mess, he and Rhamondre Stevenson are both FLEX starts.
Wide Receiver
Stefon Diggs: START, WR3
Kayshon Boutte: FLEX, WR4
DeMario Douglas: SIT
Stefon Diggs is looking better and better in each passing week, passing the century mark for the first time as a Patriot in Week 4 against the Panthers. He’s a high-end WR3/borderline WR2 in what should be a high-scoring affair against his former team. Kayshon has been Boutte since Week 1, and is a lottery ticket FLEX in hopes he comes down with a touchdown.
Tight End
Hunter Henry: START, TE1
Scoring three touchdowns in his past two games and averaging six targets per game, Hunter Henry is firmly in fringe starter status for the foreseeable future. Side note: How the heck has he been playing in the NFL for 10 years?!?
Defense/Special Teams
New England Patriots: SIT
Against Josh Allen and James Cook? In this economy?
Buffalo Bills
Quarterback
Josh Allen: START, QB1
You don’t need me to tell you to start Josh Allen. But did you know he shares a birthday (May 21st) with Mr. T? I pity the fool who considers benching Allen in any instance.
Running Back
James Cook III: START, RB1
Ty Johnson: SIT
Ray Davis: SIT
You don’t need me to tell you to start James Cook. But did you know he shares a birthday (August 25th) with country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus?
Wide Receiver
Joshua Palmer: SIT
Keon Coleman: START, WR3
Khalil Shakir: START, WR3
Outside of a one catch Week 2 performance, Khalil Shakir has been his typical consistent self and is a high-floor, low-ceiling play every week, regardless of matchup. Keon Coleman‘s breakout lasted all of one week, but he still leads the Bills in target share and is a threat to go nuclear any given week. It’s your classic floor-ceiling dichotomy.
Tight End
Dalton Kincaid: START, TE1
Tied with Khalil Shakir for the second-highest target share on the team, Dalton Kincaid leads the Bills with 2.2 yards per route run, 12.79 yards per reception, three end zone targets, and three receiving touchdowns. He’s pushing closer and closer to must-start status.
Defense/Special Teams
Buffalo Bills: START
The Patriots are tied for the third most giveaways (6) and have allowed the fourth most sacks (13).
