Kansas City Chiefs

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes: START, QB1

That was a vintage Patrick Mahomes performance. He’s throwing absolute lasers and got everyone involved, hitting four different receivers with five or more targets and throwing four touchdown passes to four different guys. The throw to JuJu was classic Mahomes magic: he threaded the needle between two Ravens defenders for the touchdown. He’s pissed off about that slow start, and this was his way of letting the league know. Mahomes is a must-start in all formats. And here’s the kicker: he gets Rashee Rice back in a few weeks.

Running Back

Isiah Pacheco: SIT
Kareem Hunt: SIT
Brashard Smith: SIT

We have a three-headed monster in the Chiefs’ backfield, and it’s a no-go zone for fantasy. Isiah Pacheco did score a touchdown, but Kareem Hunt nearly doubled his rush attempts, and Brashard Smith got involved. The work is simply divided up too much. Look at the split: Hunt had 13 carries for 34 yards. Pacheco had 7 carries for 35 yards, and added 3 targets and 2 receptions for 13 yards and the score. And Smith chipped in 4 carries and was utilized in the air with 4 targets for 3 receptions and 27 yards. You can’t start any of them at this point. Don’t drop Pacheco yet; he still has the most upside. But you can’t start him. Brashard Smith is the one worth an upside stash based on his passing game involvement. And Hunt is nothing more than a desperation FLEX.

Wide Receiver

Juju Smith-Schuster: SIT
Xavier Worthy: START, WR2
Hollywood Brown: FLEX, WR4

Mahomes was happy to have Xavier Worthy back, who led the way with 8 targets for 5 receptions and 83 yards. Marquise Brown added 5 targets, 3 catches, and 1 TD. JuJu Smith-Schuster also caught a touchdown. Worthy is locked in as a WR2 until the return of Rashee Rice. Marquise Brown is a solid FLEX play. And no, you’re still not starting JuJu.

Tight End

Travis Kelce: START, Borderline TE1

Travis Kelce is just a borderline TE1 start in PPR leagues. He’s reliable, but the elite scoring ceiling is gone with the way targets are now distributed.

Defense/Special Teams

Kansas City Chiefs: STREAMER

Any DST facing Trevor Lawrence is streamable in fantasy.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

One of the most disappointing players in all of fantasy so far this season, Trevor Lawrence has thrown for multiple touchdowns just once and has yet to throw for over 300 yards. Facing a Chiefs defense allowing the eighth fewest fantasy points to the position, he’s only startable in Superflex.

Running Back

Travis Etienne Jr.: START, RB1
Bhayshul Tuten: SIT
Lequint Allen Jr.: SIT

Travis Etienne is an every-week start, volume-based RB2 regardless of the matchup. He could crack 20+ points for the first time in a top 10 fantasy matchup against Kansas City.

Wide Receiver

Brian Thomas Jr.: START, WR2
Dyami Brown: SIT
Travis Hunter: FLEX, WR5

I heart Brian Thomas Jr., but it’s getting harder and harder to justify starting him each week. I still feel the turnaround is coming eventually; he’s too talented to get a target share over 20% and not produce. He’s a low-end WR2 in a tough matchup against the Chiefs, but he could blow up at any moment. Travis Hunter has yet to surpass 10 fantasy points and is a desperation FLEX at best.

Tight End

Brenton Strange: START, Borderline TE1

As long as he’s averaging almost six targets per game, Brenton Strange will remain a startable tight end in fantasy.

Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguar: STREAMER

The Jaguars’ defense has at least one sack and three or more turnovers in every game this season.
