Denver Broncos
Quarterback
Bo Nix: Sit
Bo Nix is not an NFL-caliber Quarterback. He should not be rostered in 1QB or 2QB fantasy leagues.
Running Back
Javonte Williams: FLEX Option
Jaleel McLaughlin: Sit
Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin are both hamstrung by Bo Nix and the Bronco’s anemic offense. Williams has been inefficient on the ground, and McLaughlin has been inconsistent and rarely used. The offense is sputtering and may benefit from Audric Estime‘s return from the IR in a few weeks. If you’re starting either back, it’s Williams, especially after his increased involvement in the passing game last week, but he profiles as a low-ceiling FLEX option at best.
Wide Receiver
Courtland Sutton: Sit
Courtland Sutton‘s targets plummeted in Week 2. It was always going to be a low-ceiling affair rostering Sutton, but his floor has completely evaporated as well. If he has another few weeks of this level of performance, he will enter droppable territory.
Tight End
Greg Dulcich: Sit
Greg Dulcich saw a huge spike in targets in Week 2. He may be something of a safety blanket for rookie Nix. That being said, the ceiling is very low in a poor offense, and the floor is virtually zero.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quarterback
Baker Mayfield: Start, QB1
Baker Mayfield is QB1 in fantasy football through the first two weeks. Week 2 was definitely a step back from Week 1, but he still was able to be a difference-maker for this offense. The Bucs are on a tear right now. Mayfield has a decent matchup against the Broncos this week. If he can work around Patrick Surtain, he should be able to distribute the football well. One of the best stories of the 2024 season thus far, fire Baker up with confidence in Week 3.
Running Back
Rachaad White: Start, RB2
Bucky Irving: FLEX Option
Rachaad White and Bucky Irving both faltered in Week 2. White remained highly inefficient on the ground and was only targeted once in the passing game. Both players should have a chance at a bounce-back week against the Broncos’ run defense, which has been in the middle of the road against opposing running backs this season. The other thing fantasy managers should be monitoring is Rachaad White’s minor groin injury.
Wide Receiver
Mike Evans: Start, WR1
Chris Godwin: Start, WR1
Jalen McMillan: Sit
Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have been the primary beneficiaries of Mayfield’s resurgence. Evans had a phenomenal Week 1, and while he didn’t perform well in Week 2, he is still in a great spot. Godwin, on the other hand, is the WR1 overall on the season, and his move to the slot has proven to be a revelation for his fantasy production. We have seen this version of Godwin before. If he can stay healthy, he will be an absolute steal as a consistent top-15 wide receiver. The Broncos are a tough test, but Surtain should spend most of his time shadowing Evans. Expect both players to get the volume, but Godwin is the upside to play here.
Tight End
Cade Otton: Sit
The tight end position has been bad, and Cade Otton, a popular post-hype sleeper candidate, has not been exempt from this poor showing. Otton can remain on waivers.
