Carolina Panthers
Quarterback
Andy Dalton: Sit
Andy Dalton will take over for the Panthers in Week 3. He should not be in your lineups.
Running Back
Chuba Hubbard: Sit
Miles Sanders: Sit
The Panthers are the worst team in the NFL. Chuba Hubbard flirted with RB2 production in Week 2, but it was not pretty. You are avoiding all Panthers this week, and the running backs can be avoided until Jonathon Brooks returns from IR.
Wide Receiver
Diontae Johnson: Start, WR2
Xavier Legette: Sit
Diontae Johnson should be one of, if not the only, fantasy option for the Panthers in Week 3. The offense is terrible. Johnson is the only relevant player. Johnson should benefit from the change at Quarterback. He has been separating well this season, but the question is going to be, does Dalton have anything left?
Tight End
Sit All
The Panthers don’t have many viable options in terms of pass-catchers for fantasy managers to get excited about, and tight end is way off the radar in Carolina.
Las Vegas Raiders
Quarterback
Gardner Minshew: Sit
Gardner Minshew is my QB25 for the week. He has been able to find a nice connection with rookie tight end Brock Bowers, which should serve him well this week against the Panthers. This week’s easy matchup is much better for the skill players than it is for the Quarterback.
Running Back
Zamir White: Sit
Alexander Mattison: Sit
Both Raiders’ running backs have little upside from week to week. They find themselves in a good matchup, which is why Zamir White lands as my RB31, but in most cases, there are better options for your FLEX at wide receiver this week.
Wide Receiver
Davante Adams: Start, WR1
Jakobi Meyers: Sit
Davante Adams had a strong Week 2 performance, catching 9 of 12 targets and scoring a touchdown. In Week 3, he could approach a similar stat line against an abysmal Panthers team. He may not get the same volume as the Raiders, and he may run away with this one, but his efficiency could get a bump. He is a fringe WR1 for me this week. The only thing holding him back is the game script. Jakobi Meyers may be able actually to take advantage of the Panther’s defensive scheme and may be leaned on more in the latter parts of the game.
Tight End
Brock Bowers: Start, TE1
Brock Bowers has been as advertised so far this season — an elite route runner among tight ends with vice grips for hands. He has also been a target hog, playing nearly 70% of snaps each week. He still has yet to find the end zone, but when that comes, we could be seeing a Sam LaPorta-like rookie campaign for Bowers, and he is a significantly better prospect than LaPorta ever was. Expect him to be a lineup staple going forward.
