Jacksonville Jaguars
Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence: Sit, QB2
Trevor Lawrence gets further and further away from what people expected with each passing game. While I still believe in a strong season, Week 3 looks to be bringing more challenges. Lawrence was able to protect the football once again in Week 2, which was a primary concern entering the season. He was not able to find the end zone, though, and the Jaguars offense seems to have stalled more often than not.
Running Back
Travis Etienne: Start, RB2
Tank Bigsby: Sit
Travis Etienne has had a down start to the season, and the Jaguars as a whole have been unimpressive. He is still seeing 70+% of the snaps, which bodes well for his fantasy prospects, but they need to get him more involved on passing downs if he is ever going to return the value you spent drafting him. Tank Bigsby is battling an injury, but if/when he does return, it may be more as an early-down breather for Etienne, no matter how much more efficient he ends up being. Hold onto Bigsby as a handcuff for now, but keep him out of your starting lineups.
Wide Receiver
Brian Thomas Jr.: Start, WR3/FLEX
Christian Kirk: Sit
Gabe Davis: Sit
Brian Thomas Jr. has officially jumped Christian Kirk in my rankings. The offense as a whole stalled more often than not. Each of this team’s wide receivers fills a different role, but they have yet to threaten a defense. If you need a FLEX, Brian Thomas Jr. can fill that role with some potential touchdown upside. The rest of the Jags’ pass-catchers belong on your bench until we see any signs of life, as their nonexistent floor can ruin your week.
Tight End
Sit All
Without Evan Engram, you would not be looking at any tight ends for the Jaguars. Even if Brenton Strange were to fill in the Engram role, you aren’t confidently playing him this week.
Buffalo Bills
Quarterback
Josh Allen: Start, QB1
Josh Allen should feast against this Jaguars defense in Week 3. It will be a nice bounceback from the dud he gave fantasy managers in Week 2. You are never benching Allen, so we don’t need to spend much time here.
Running Back
James Cook: Start, RB1
Ray Davis: Sit
James Cook was the primary beneficiary of the new-look Bills offense once again in Week 2. He was highly efficient and was able to find the end zone three times on just 12 total touches. While Touchdowns are not a regular part of James Cooks’ game, the fact that he is getting those touches at all is a big change from 2023. Cook is an RB1 until further notice.
Wide Receiver
Keon Coleman: Sit
Khalil Shakir: Sit
Curtis Samuel: Sit
There is no clear leader among the Bills’ pass catchers. Until that is established, you are avoiding all of these options for your starting lineups. I am still rolling out Kincaid with some adjusted expectations, but the wide receivers can’t be trusted from week to week.
Tight End
Dalton Kincaid: Start, TE1
Kincaid’s production took a small step forward in Week 2, but his usage plummeted. Part of this may be simply because the Bills got out to such an early lead and only needed to throw the ball 19 times last week. It may be a bit of a rollercoaster as the Bills discover who they are on offense, but Kincaid should be in lineups most weeks, even if consistency is lacking. It was encouraging to see the Bills scheme early looks for Kincaid in the first drive last week, so hopefully this intentional increase in usage continues.
