Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Skylar Thompson: Sit
First and foremost, we are sending thoughts and prayers to Tua Tagovailoa and his family as he navigates his recovery and discusses his future. In his stead, Skylar Thompson will be at the helm. He should stay far, far away from fantasy lineups.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: Start, RB1
Jaylen Wright: Sit
Jeff Wilson Jr.: Sit
Raheem Mostert: Sit
De’Von Achane is the only running back you are starting for the Dolphins right now. The entire offense takes a hit with Tagovailoa’s loss, but Achane does have some ability to produce independent of poor quarterback play. His usage in the passing game is important to his fantasy success, but his usage uptick in Week 2 (7 more touches than his previous career high) could mean big things for the rest of Achane’s season.
Wide Receiver
Tyreek Hill: Start, WR2
Jaylen Waddle: Start, WR3
The odds are that you aren’t benching either Dolphins pass catcher based on where you drafted them. That may be less painful on weeks with an easier matchup, but the arrow is pointing down for both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Without Tua, they have been mediocre fantasy producers at best (Averaging less than 50 yards per game). The Seahawks and Devon Witherspoon have been stout against opposing wide receivers, allowing the third-fewest points to the position.
Tight End
Jonnu Smith: Sit, TE2
Jonnu Smith is more of an honorable mention than anything and a name to keep an eye on in the TE landscape, but he is mainly off the fantasy radar for now.
Seattle Seahawks
Quarterback
Geno Smith: Sit, QB2
Geno Smith continues to perform for fantasy football, currently the QB9 on the season. He has made an impact in different ways, but one thing that is working is the Grubbs offensive scheme. While I don’t expect Smith to be a mainstay in 1QB lineups, you can expect him to be a solid QB2 with upside, especially when his top receivers are clicking like they were in Week 2.
Running Back
Zach Charbonnet: Start, RB2
Zach Charbonnet did not look good in Week 2. He has averaged less than 3 yards per carry this season, and that is not something that looks to be changing anytime soon. His primary impact for the Seahawks will have to be as a pass catcher out of the backfield. He has a great matchup against the Dolphins, who are in the bottom third in the league, against opposing running backs, so that could turn the tide in his favor. He is a low-upside RB2 right now, but he is built for goal-line touches, and that could help him once again.
Wide Receiver
DK Metcalf: Start, WR2
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Start, WR2
Tyler Lockett: Sit
DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba exploded in Week 2 to the tune of 22 catches and 246 yards. The pass catchers worked exactly how fantasy managers dreamed they would when JSN was drafted. For Week 3, Metcalf is dealing with a hand injury that we are unsure of its severity. If he does miss time, JSN will be a borderline WR1 during the week. If both players are on the field, they have a tougher matchup but complement each other well. The Dolphins may be scrambling a bit in this one, and the defense could be taken advantage of late.
Tight End
Noah Fant: Sit
Noah Fant is off the fantasy radar. Keep him on waivers for now.
