Buffalo Bills
Quarterback
Josh Allen: START, QB1
You don’t need me to tell you to start Josh Allen, but did you know he was college teammates with Logan Wilson at Wyoming? Both went on to become captains and cornerstones for their NFL teams.
Running Back
James Cook III: START, RB1
Ty Johnson: SIT
Ray Davis: SIT
You don’t need me to tell you to start James Cook III, but did you know he was college teammates with George Pickens at Georgia? They were key players on the Bulldogs’ 2021 national championship-winning team.
Wide Receiver
Joshua Palmer: SIT
Keon Coleman: FLEX, WR4
Khalil Shakir: START, WR3
Buffalo is a weird situation where you want to eat the cake and not the icing in fantasy. Josh Allen is the reigning QB1 overall and is very well in contention for the title once again. But name one Bills receiver you’re confident starting. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Keon Coleman undeniably has the upside, but has just one game over 10 points since his 25.2 Week 1 performance. Joshua Palmer has been a big ol’ bust (and a big ol’ miss by me), and Khalil Shakir has been a McDouble. Atlanta is a bottom-10 matchup for opposing wide receivers, and if you’re starting anybody, it’s Shakir. But the upside isn’t what you’d hope for someone catching passes from arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.
Tight End
Dalton Kincaid: START, TE1
The most consistent pass catcher for the Bills has actually been Dalton Kincaid, with four or more catches in four of five games and three total touchdowns. He’s an every-week starter at the position, considering the volume he’s seeing, but Atlanta allows the fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Kincaid is still startable, but he may need a touchdown to get into the double digits.
Defense/Special Teams
Buffalo Bills: START
Buffalo has 13 sacks this season, tied for fifth-most in the NFL.
Atlanta Falcons
Quarterback
Michael Penix Jr.: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Michael Penix Jr. had a big, beautiful bounce-back game against the Commanders in Week 4, passing for over 300 yards for the second time in his career and throwing multiple touchdowns for the first time this season. Buffalo is somewhat of a difficult matchup, but Penix has produced at home, scoring multiple touchdowns and totaling over 300 yards in both games in Atlanta this season.
Running Back
Bijan Robinson: START, RB1
Tyler Allgeier: SIT
You don’t need me to tell you to start Bijan Robinson, but did you know he was college teammates with Xavier Worthy at Texas? His speedy teammate went on to set the all-time 40-yard dash record at the NFL Combine.
Wide Receiver
Drake London: START, WR1
Darnell Mooney: SIT
Ray-Ray McCloud III: SIT
You don’t need me to tell you to start Drake London, but did you know he was college teammates with Jordan Addison at USC? The year after London was a first-round pick, Addison won the Biletnikoff Award as the best wide receiver in the nation, showcasing the absurd level of talent in their receiver room. Darnell Mooney is a name to watch and stash, but his injuries have kept him from doing much of anything this season.
Tight End
Kyle Pitts Sr.: START, TE1
I won’t give up on Kyle Pitts Sr., and neither should you. I hope. I think? Well, he is currently the TE13, averaging five catches per game, and scored his first touchdown of the season before the bye. Buffalo is a difficult matchup for Pitts, giving up the second-fewest fantasy points to the position. But any tight end averaging six targets a game is an automatic start.
Defense/Special Teams
Atlanta Falcons: SIT
They gave up two passing touchdowns to Marcus Mariota.
