Chicago Bears
Quarterback
Caleb Williams: START, QB1
Despite coming off his worst performance of the season before heading into the bye, I’ve seen enough flashes from Caleb Williams this season. I’m still fully bought in for his top-five fantasy potential under Ben Johnson. The Commanders allow the 11th-most fantasy points to the position, and Johnson has had an extra week to game plan. I expect fireworks in this game and Williams to put up a top-10 week.
Running Back
D’Andre Swift: START, RB2
Kyle Monangai: SIT
While the passing game has been the focus for the Bears, D’Andre Swift is still a vital contributor to what Johnson wants to do with this offense. Swift had TDs in two of his last three games and seems to be having an increased role in the passing game as the season progresses.
Wide Receiver
Rome Odunze: START, WR1
DJ Moore: START, WR3
Luther Burden III: FLEX, WR5
Olamide Zaccheaus: FLEX, WR5
You don’t need me to tell you to start Rome Odunze, but did you know he was college teammates with Michael Penix Jr. at Washington? Their connection was so strong that both were selected in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Considering how well Chicago’s offense has played at times, I wish I could rank DJ Moore higher. But he’s been under 10 fantasy points in three of four games and surpassed 50 yards just once. He needs a trade out of Chicago to return to borderline WR1 status. Luther Burden III and Olamide Zaccheaus are decent ceiling and floor dart throws, respectively, with an implied game total pushing 50 points.
Tight End
Cole Kmet: SIT
Colston Loveland: SIT
Neither Cole Kmet nor Colston Loveland is in consideration to start in fantasy, but Loveland is a name to watch coming out of the bye. He’s worth a stash if you need a tight end.
Defense/Special Teams
Chicago Bears: SIT
Dallas falls under the “I’m not recommending a defense allowing over 30 points per game” rule. Almost. They’re at 29.3, but the point still stands.
Washington Commanders
Quarterback
Jayden Daniels: START, THE QB1
You don’t need me to tell you to start Jayden Daniels, but did you know he was college teammates with Brandon Aiyuk at Arizona State? Aiyuk was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft just one year after their season together.
Running Back
Jacory Croskey-Merritt: START, RB2
Chris Rodriguez Jr.: SIT
Jeremy McNichols: SIT
“Bill” Croskey-Merritt exploded in Week 15, taking 14 carries for 111 yards and two touchdowns, adding two catches for 39 yards. He had a fantastic 27-yard run where he spun out of a tackle by Derwin James for a huge gain. But the Chargers’ defense was so bad, and the play-calling was laughable. Honestly, his two touchdowns were more a result of poor defense than anything special he did. Call me a hater, but I don’t see what others see in him. The Chargers‘ poor play led to the majority of his production. He still only played 48% of offensive snaps — Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez were involved plenty. You’re starting him if you have him, but the right move is to capitalize on this hype. Sell high, mitigate the risk because the Commanders are clearly committed to this multi-back rotation, and he still only played 48% of snaps.

Wide Receiver
Deebo Samuel: START, WR1
Terry McLaurin: START, WR3
Luke McCaffrey: FLEX, WR5
Deebo Samuel continued his bounce-back campaign with 8 receptions and 96 yards on 11 targets, scoring the game-sealing touchdown. He was the only Commanders receiver to see more than two targets. He’s currently WR11 on the season, and posted his second straight game over 20 points. While Deebo dominated, Luke McCaffrey provided the boom on minimal volume (2 targets, 1 reception, 50 yards). Even when Terry McLaurin comes back, Deebo is the WR1. His versatility and volume make him locked in as an every-week start, and the Commanders will continue to lean on him heavily.
If McLaurin returns this week, he’s a solid WR3 with upside against a Bears defense allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs. Luke McCaffrey is a decent flex option if you have to dig deep.
Tight End
Zach Ertz: SIT
Zach Ertz is only scoring double-digit points if he catches a touchdown, just like every other tight end available on the waiver wire. The Bears have allowed just one touchdown to the position this season.
Defense/Special Teams
Washington Commanders: STREAMER
The Commanders are tied with the Rams for the third-most sacks this season (15).
