Cleveland Browns

Quarterback

Deshaun Watson: SIT

I originally had Deshaun Watson as a back end Superflex start, but I just can’t do it. The Titans have allowed just six passing touchdowns all year, and Watson has two passing touchdowns in the last three weeks. He’s averaging fewer than 200 passing yards per game and hasn’t thrown multiple touchdowns since Week 3. I’d rather start Tanner McKee.

Running Back

Quinshon Judkins: FLEX, RB3
Jaleel McLaughlin: SIT

Quinshon Judkins ranks top five in RB carry share with 87% of the Browns’ backfield rushes. That’s as far I go with positive things to say about Judkins. He’s on track to return after a one-game absence and holds FLEX viability solely because he gets work. It’s not a great matchup against the Titans, but even if it was, I don’t have a ton of faith in his ability to take advantage of it.

Wide Receiver

Denzel Boston: START, WR2
KC Concepcion Jr: SIT
Jerry Jeudy: SIT

Denzel Boston is startable every week thanks to nobody but Denzel Boston. He’s making big plays (20.3 yards per reception), and he’s doing it himself, with his 4.1 yards after the catch per reception being the second-highest among receivers. The Titans are allowing 13.8 catches to the position, fourth-most in the league, and Boston ranks top 10 in both end zone and red zone targets. He’s a big play waiting to happen, and I can’t wait to see what he can do when (if?) he can get a reliable quarterback throwing him the ball.

Tight End

Harold Fannin Jr: SIT

I love the talent, and I want to rank Harold Fannin Jr. as at least a streamer. But seven targets and two catches over his last two games despite averaging over 90% of snaps? And a bottom-10 matchup? I just can’t.

Defense/Special Teams

Cleveland Browns: START

Tennessee is tied for the fewest points per game.

Tennessee Titans

Quarterback

Cam Ward: SIT

What is there to say? Cam Ward isn’t startable in any fantasy format. Maybe ever again. 5.6 yards per attempt ranks 38th and his -0.17 EPA/dropback ranks 37th. There are 32 teams in the NFL.

Running Back

Tony Pollard: FLEX, RB3
Tyjae Spears: SIT
Nicholas Singleton: SIT

Tony Pollard is a volume FLEX play in only the most desperate of situations. Cleveland has allowed just 1 touchdown to running backs all year and allowed the second -fewest fantasy points to the position. Pollard sees about 17 combined carries and targets per game, yet barely surpasses 60 yards on average.

Wide Receiver

Carnell Tate: START, WR2
Wan’Dale Robinson: SIT
Elic Ayomanor: SIT

Carnell Tate is the receiver version of Tony Pollard, just with talent. Tate has a whopping 50.8% air yards share (second-most) and averages over 7 targets per game. But the offense is abysmal, and Ward couldn’t complete a pass to Tate if he was holding a net. Similar situation to Boston, incredible talent being bogged down by a poor-performing quarterback.

Tight End

Gunnar Helm: SIT

Gunnar Helm has one catch for five yards over his last three games. That’s not a tight end, that’s a rumor.

Defense/Special Teams

Tennessee Titans: SIT

Tennessee is tied for the fourth-fewest takeaways, and despite the Browns allowing the most sacks per game, sacks alone won’t carry a defense.
