Indianapolis Colts
Quarterback
Daniel Jones: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Four touchdown passes and seven interceptions in seven games is not good. Daniel Jones hasn’t thrown for 300 yards once this season, has been sacked 19 times, and the Colts shipped Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle. Jacksonville does allow the third-most passing yards per game, but they also rank 24th in passing touchdowns allowed. Only in Superflex, and only if you’re desperate.
Running Back
Jonathan Taylor: START, RB1
Seth McGowan: SIT
DJ Giddens: SIT
Jonathan Taylor has eight rushing touchdowns and owns this red zone outright, but the matchup could be a problem. Jacksonville allows the fewest rushing yards per game to running backs in the league, and no back has cracked 56 yards on them all year. But this is JT, and you’re starting him no matter what. But he’ll need to get into the end zone to have a productive fantasy day. Do keep an eye on game day inactives come Sunday, because plenty of trade rumors are swirling around JT, and there are rumblings that the Colts could sit him if they’re actively shopping him in a trade. If JT is indeed inactive, Seth McGowan becomes an interesting FLEX play, but I’d rather add and stash him rather than start him against this run defense. Still a must-add in all formats.
Wide Receiver
Keenan Allen: START, WR3
Josh Downs: FLEX, WR4
Laquon Treadwell: SIT
Jacksonville has surrendered the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers over the last three weeks and more receiving yards per game than any defense in football. Keenan Allen leads the Colts in target share over that same stretch at 22.5% but is more of a volume play than ceiling. Josh Downs has been on the field for 85 percent of the snaps three weeks running and still has zero touchdowns on 46 targets, which is a problem. Against a Jags defense that is tied for the third-fewest receiving touchdowns per game allowed to the position, neither is an exciting start.
Tight End
Tyler Warren: STREAMER
Check the Friday injury report first. Tyler Warren is questionable with a groin issue that has cost him the last two games, and he was limited in his return to practice Wednesday. If he suits up, he’s more of a streamer this week. Jacksonville has not let a tight end top 40 yards all season, but they have allowed the tenth-most touchdowns per game to the position.
Defense/Special Teams
Indianapolis Colts: SIT
The Colts are tied for the fewest takeaways in the league, and Jacksonville has coughed it up just four times in six games.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence: START, QB1
Coming out of the bye with 14 touchdowns against four interceptions, Trevor Lawrence has thrown Honest Abes (four scores) in two of his six starts. Indianapolis has the fewest interceptions in the league and gives up the 12th-most passing touchdowns per game. Everything lines up for TLaw to come out of the bye with a boom.
Running Back
Bhayshul Tuten: START, RB2
Chris Rodriguez Jr.: SIT
Lequint Allen Jr.: SIT
Bhayshul Tuten is averaging 14.7 fantasy points a game and finally found the end zone through the air last time out with two touchdown catches against Houston. Indianapolis let Derrick Henry run for 144 yards and three scores in Week 1 and gave up 36.8 points to Jaylen Warren in Week 5, so the ceiling is there. The nagging part is the goal line, where Chris Rodriguez Jr. has four carries inside the five to Tuten’s three. But this is Tuten’s backfield, and he’s a weekly RB2 with a 65% carry share.
Wide Receiver
Parker Washington: START, WR1
Jakobi Meyers: FLEX, WR4
Brian Thomas Jr: SIT
Parker Washington is the target leader and the touchdown man in Duuuuuvaaaaal, handling 22.5% of the targets over the last three games and four scores on the season. The one thing working against him is that Indianapolis has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers across their last three games. Jakobi Meyers is questionable with a hamstring that popped up coming out of the bye. It’s a new issue for him, so get clarity before you flex him. I miss Brian Thomas Jr.
Tight End
Brenton Strange: STREAMER
Tied with Parker Washington for the team lead in target share over the last three weeks at 22.5%, Brenton Strange is getting real volume. Indianapolis has allowed the sixth-most touchdowns per game to the position, making Strange a solid streaming option.
Defense/Special Teams
Jacksonville Jaguars: START
Jacksonville allows the third-fewest points per game, and Indy is tied for the sixth-most giveaways. This is my top DST play of the week.
