Atlanta Falcons
Quarterback
Michael Penix Jr.: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Is… Michael Penix Jr.… good? I’ll stop short of going there just yet. But after back-to-back games with 3+ passing touchdowns and no fewer than 213 passing yards in all five of his starts, he’s certainly on the streaming radar. But I’m not in love with the unfavorable matchup he has against Tampa this week. The Bucs have trouble consistently putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, but have eight interceptions in seven games and give up 1.43 touchdowns a game to QBs, 12th-fewest in the league.
Running Back
Bijan Robinson: START, RB1
Brian Robinson Jr.: SIT
Starting Bijan Robinson is easy, just like his comp to Reese’s Pumpkins. Take something that was already elite and somehow make it even better. Same idea with Bijan.
Wide Receiver
Drake London: START, WR1
Jahan Dotson: SIT
Olamide Zaccheaus: SIT
Tampa is another one of those teams that you have to be careful when looking at season-long points allowed against versus their recent play. Tampa is tied for the 13th fewest points allowed to WRs on the year, but allowed the eighth-most points in their last three. The Bucs were completely torched in back-to-back weeks by the Steelers and Cowboys, giving up 51.1 and 46 points to their receivers before holding the run-first Panthers offense to 13.9 points to receivers. I think the real numbers are somewhere much closer to the middle, but the fact they’ve allowed those monster games is enough to fire up Drake London as a borderline WR1 and his 10+ targets over his last three.
Tight End
Kyle Pitts Sr.: START, TE1
It was a slow start to 2026 for Kyle Pitts, but he’s back on the weekly starter radar with three straight games of 13+ points (and three straight games with a touchdown catch). The three-peat of gLoB–tastic performances still comes with an average of six targets per game, so there’s hope he’ll be more than a touchdown-dependent starter. But in a top-10 matchup and an average of five catches in his last three, Pitts is an easy start in Week 8.
Defense/Special Teams
Atlanta Falcons: STREAMER
Tampa Bay is tied for the third-most sacks taken and the sixth-most giveaways per game, which is enough to stream Atlanta on the road.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quarterback
Baker Mayfield: SIT
Good thing Baker Mayfield got his contract before the season started, because he has not been good. In four starts, Mayfield is averaging less than 170 passing yards and less than a touchdown per game. Atlanta’s an ok matchup, but until this offense shows signs of life in the air, I’m benching Baker.
Running Back
Bucky Irving: START, RB1
Kenny Gainwell: FLEX, RB3
Sean Tucker: SIT
Atlanta is a top-10 matchup for running backs this season and allowed the most to the position over their last three games, pushing Bucky Irving firmly into RB1 territory for Week 8. Irving ranks top 10 in carries and rushing yards per game, and his 21 red zone carries is tied for 12th. Calling Kenny Gainwell a disappointment is a bit of an understatement, but he saw a season-high 14 carries last week and averaged 6.29 yards per carry, albeit in garbage time. But it was his third straight game averaging over 4.5 yards per carry (he had six combined carries in the previous two), seemingly showing Kenny G can still efficiently run the rock when given the opportunity.
Wide Receiver
Emeka Egbuka: START, WR3 (If Active)
Chris Godwin Jr.: SIT
Ted Hurst III: SIT
Emeka Egbuka missed Week 7 due to a concussion and has yet to pass concussion protocol at the time of writing. If he’s able to play, he’s the lone Bucs receiver worth starting simply on talent. Chris Godwin has five or more targets in three of his last four games, yet hasn’t scored at least eight fantasy points in any of them.
Tight End
Cade Otton: SIT
Cade Otton was held without a catch last week and has 29 yards over his last three games combined. Atlanta is a decent matchup for tight ends, but that only matters if he actually sees the ball. Otton does not.
Defense/Special Teams
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: SIT
Tampa Bay allows the third-fewest yards per game, but it’s middle of the pack in sacks. Not enough upside to consider for fantasy.
