Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterback

Tanner McKee: SIT

Despite the plus matchup and scary symmetrical stats from his first two starts (215 yards and 1 TD Week 6, 211 yards and 1 TD Week 7), Tanner McKee isn’t much of a fantasy option outside the deepest of leagues. Even in Superflex, I’d rather take a shot on an upside receiver that a mediocre backup quarterback who will likely be missing most of his weapons.

Running Back

Saquon Barkley: START, RB2
Dameon Pierce: IR
Elijah Mitchell: FLEX, RB3
Jaydon Blue: FLEX, RB3

It’s simple with Saquon Barkley. Start him if he’s active. Dameon Pierce had been starting in his stead, but was placed on the IR on October 28th and will miss at least the next four games. Elijah Mitchell has had quite the 24 hours, elevated from the practice squad to second on the depth chart behind former Cowboy Jaydon Blue. Blue and Mitchell are both dart-throw FLEXes due to bye weeks if Barkley misses.

Wide Receiver

Makai Lemon: FLEX, WR4 (SIT if Wicks or Smith active)
Dontayvion Wicks: Likely OUT (FLEX, WR4 if active)
DeVonta Smith: Likely OUT (START, WR3 if active)

DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks both missed Week 7 versus Dallas and are trending that way for Week 8, yet to practice this week at the time of writing. If both miss again, Makai Lemon can be considered a FLEX, having his best game as a pro Week 7 with them sidelined. But if either is active, Lemon’s not worth the squeeze.

Tight End

Dallas Goedert: START, TE1

Teetering on gLoB status, Dallas Goedert has brought in at least five catches in his las three games and get a juicy matchup with Washington, who allows the second most points to the position this season. Goedert is averaging eight targets per game since returning from injury and scored twice the last time these teams met. The Commanders have continued to be a tight end friendly matchup, with only the Lions allowing more touchdowns  per game tight ends.

Defense/Special Teams

Philadelphia Eagles: SIT

Philly has the second-fewest sacks and tied for the fewest takeaways. Washington has the fewest giveaways in the league. Zero chance.

Washington Commanders

Quarterback

Jayden Daniels: START, QB1

Jayden Daniels had a second straight two-score game, but the best news was he did his damage through the air. Daniels had just his second 300-yard passing game in his career against San Francisco, flipping the script from Week 5 and his 103 rushing yards and two rushing scores against the Giants. A few more similar performances and Daniels will return to must-start status within weeks. His 53 rushing yards per game ranks first at the position, and a top-10 matchup against Philly bodes well for his hot streak to continue.

Running Back

Rachaad White: FLEX, RB3
Austin Ekeler: SIT
Jeremy McNichols: SIT

Rachaad White had a productive game against the 49ers and did most of his damage through the air. The problem for White is that the Eagles allow among the lowest average receptions to running backs per game, capping his already low ceiling and chipping away at his modest floor.

Wide Receiver

Antonio Williams: START, WR2
Stefon Diggs: START, WR2
Treylon Burks: SIT

With Terry McLaurin out for the season, the time is now for Antonio Williams to begin his breakout. I’ve been bullish on him most of the season, and while he’s not had a huge performance yet, the matchup with Philly sets up nicely. The Eagles defense is giving up more than three completions over 20 yards per game, allowing the eighth-most in the league. Stefon Diggs will see the most volume with McLaurin on the shelf but has nowhere near the ceiling of the rookie, but both make for great starts in a plus matchup.

Tight End

Chig Okonkwo: STREAMER

Chig Okonkwo is coming off a seven-catch, 69-yard game, but faces a Philly defense that allows the seventh-fewest points to tight ends. His targets have increased for three straight weeks, and he’s scored 10+ in back-to-back games despite not getting in the end zone. If the matchup were better, Chig would be more than a streamer. But he should be rostered in just about every league.

Defense/Special Teams

Washington Commanders: START

Philadelphia is bottom five in points per game.
