Los Angeles Chargers

Quarterback/Running Back/Wide Receiver/Tight End

Justin Herbert: SIT
Omarion Hampton: SIT
Keaton Mitchell: SIT
Kimani Vidal: SIT
Ladd McConkey: SIT
Quentin Johnston: SIT
Tre’ Harris: SIT
Charlie Kolar: SIT
Oronde Gadsden: SIT

Week 7 was the first all season Justin Herbert didn’t throw an interception. Problem is, the Chargers were on bye. Herbert and the entire Chargers offense have been a sadness factory of historic proportions, and I’ll need to see a significant turnaround before I’m willing to start any Charger. Their skill position players have exactly three games with 10+ points that don’t involve scoring a touchdown. One each for the trio of Keaton Mitchell, Ladd McConkey, and Tre’ Harris. Hard pass. If you need any more convincing, go read some stats about the Rams’ defense below.

Defense/Special Teams

Los Angeles Chargers: SIT

Them too.

Los Angeles Rams

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford: START, QB1

Matthew Stafford has two games with no touchdown passes, but has two or more in the other five (3+ in three of them). He’s as steady as they come even in the twilight of his prime, and as long as he has Puka Nacua and Sean McVay, Stafford is startable any given week.

Running Back

Kyren Williams: START, RB1
Blake Corum: START, RB2
Dean Connors: SIT

Starting Kyren Williams is the kind of move you make for the volume. He’s the kid who shows up with a pillowcase. Everyone else brought a cute little pumpkin bucket. Kyren came prepared for 10 lbs of candy and 25 touches. Blake Corum comes in as an RB2 in a top-10 matchup, averaging nearly 16 points per game over that span thanks to 0.42 missed tackles forced per attempt, the best rate in the league.

Wide Receiver

Puka Nacua: START, WR1
Konata Mumpfield: SIT
Jordan Whittington: SIT

Starting Puka Nacua is about as easy as it gets. He’s the house that lets you grab a handful. You expect one or two. Instead, you leave with way more than you were supposed to get. Nobody’s complaining. Konata Mumpfield and Jordan Whittington should be rostered with Davante Adams out for a significant period, but neither are ready for the limelight.

Tight End

All Rams TEs: SIT

The Rams’ tight end room is a three-way split, and the Chargers are a bottom-10 matchup, allowing one touchdown to the position all season.

Defense/Special Teams

Los Angeles Rams: START

The Chargers score the fewest points in the league, give up the second-most sacks, and lead the NFL in giveaways. Fire up the Rams.
