Washington Commanders
Quarterback
Jayden Daniels
Marcus Mariota: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
He’s not somebody you’re excited to get into your lineup, but Marcus Mariota makes for a fine (Super)FLEX play against the Dolphins in Madrid. His final stat line won’t wow you, but Mariota’s thrown for a season high of 213 yards in back-to-back games. He’ll have a good chance to score a few touchdowns in a top 10 fantasy matchup and chip in a little bit on the ground as well. You could do much worse at QB in Superflex.
Running Back
Jacory Croskey-Merritt: SIT
Chris Rodriguez Jr.: SIT
Jeremy McNichols: SIT
It’s really a shame to waste such a phenomenal fantasy matchup for running backs on the gross Commanders committee. Jacory Croskey-Merrit has 55% of the team’s carries over the last three weeks, but has the worst yards per carry of the trio at 2.97. Chris Rodriguez Jr. is the next man on the totem poll with 33% of the carries and the most efficient at 4.37 yards per carry. But the key statistic for Rodriguez is that he’s handling 67% of the team’s carries inside the five. That alone makes him the most enticing option and the only one I’d consider for fantasy. Jeremy McNichols had a mid-season stretch where he was seeing a healthy dose of targets, but he has just one in his past two, putting him the furthest off the radar of the bunch.
Wide Receiver
Terry McLaurin
Deebo Samuel: START, WR3
Robbie Chosen: SIT
Jaylin Lane: SIT
Despite his return to practice, Commanders’ head coach Dan Quinn has already ruled out Terry McLaurin for Week 11. Miami hasn’t been a great matchup for wide receivers this season, allowing the fourth fewest points to the position and just one 100-yard receiver all year. Deebo Samuel is the only Commanders pass catcher you’re starting, but profiles as a risky WR3 considering the matchup and Mariota under center. Robbie Chosen (formerly Robbie Anderson/Chosen Anderson) was recently signed to the active roster, but he’s not an option for fantasy.
Tight End
Zach Ertz: STREAMER
Miami has been giving to the tight end all season, allowing the third-most points to the position. Zach Ertz‘s role has remained rather stable with Marcus Mariota under center, seeing no fewer than four targets and catching four passes in three straight games. He’s a toucdhown-dependent streamer with a good matchup.
Defense/Special Teams
Washington Commanders: SIT
Washington has allowed 36.7 points per game over their last three, second only to the Bengals.
Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
He’s not totalling an abundance of yardage, but Tua Tagovailoa has thrown touchdowns in bunches as of late. He was kept out of the end zone in Week 9 against Baltimore, but bounced back with two terrific touchdown tosses against division rival Buffalo. Miami heads to Madrid to take on the Commanders in the final international game of the season. There should be some good old-fashioned fireworks, considering Washington has given up three or more touchdowns in four straight games. From the head coach to the quarterback and everyone in between, most in Miami are fighting for their jobs. Even if the Commanders can’t score, I expect the Dolphins to keep their foot on the gas in any game script.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: START, RB1
De’Von Achane is obviously a lock in your lineup, but did you know that his speed isn’t just football speed? He was an NCAA All-American track star who ran a personal best of 10.14 seconds in the 100-meter dash, a time that would put him in contention for a spot on an Olympic relay team.
Wide Receiver
Jaylen Waddle: START, WR2
Malik Washington: FLEX, WR5
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: SIT
Jaylen Waddle continues to lead the way for the Dolphins’ receivers, commanding a 23.9% target share over their last three games and scoring in two of their last three. Waddle has 14 or more fantasy points in five of his last six, and has established himself as a volume-based WR2 since Tyreek Hill‘s season ended. Malik Washington has some slight FLEX appeal considering the matchup with Washington, allowing the third most points to the position. He’s the only other receiver with a double-digit target share and has come down with a couple of touchdowns of his own since Week 8. Ideally, I’d avoid any Miami receiver not named Waddle if possible.
Tight End
Greg Dulcich: SIT
He’s not worth starting even in a top 10 fantasy matchup, but Greg Dulcich has nine targets over the past two games and is easily the most talented tight end in Miami with Darren Waller out. Dulcich is worth watching if you’re desperate for a tight end, but that’s about it.
Defense/Special Teams
Miami Dolphins: SIT
The Dolphins’ defense has played better as of late, but they’re still not in consideration for fantasy.
