Houston Texans
Quarterback
C.J. Stroud
Davis Mills: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
C.J. Stroud had yet to pass concussion protocol and was still experiencing symptoms at the time of writing, so it’s looking like Davis Mills should stretch his starter status at least one more week. Tennessee isn’t a terrible matchup, but they’ve yet to allow a 300-yard passer all year. This game has the lowest implied game total of the week, so there’s not a whole lot to get excited about. For most of the game against Jacksonville, Mills was missing receivers and his typical meh self. But he made play after play in the fourth quarter, including some incredible throws in tight spots, and orchestrated a truly miraculous comeback. If you’re in a pinch at quarterback, Mills can be started in Superflex.
Running Back
Woody Marks: START, RB2
Nick Chubb: BORDERLINE FLEX
We’ve been down this road before with Woody Marks. He handled over 11 carries for the second time this season and scored his second rushing touchdown on a short dive in the second quarter. Marks would take all the goal-line carries and account for 14 of the team’s 19 rushing attempts. Nick Chubb handled just five attempts for the second time this season, but averaged over nine yards per carry. Marks once again showed he’s able to carry the load if the Texans will trust him with it. The Titans have been thrashed on the ground, tied with the Bills, allowing a league-high 12 rushing touchdowns this season, and three receiving touchdowns to running backs as well. Marks makes for a solid RB2 with some risk mixed in due to the Texans’ previous unwillingness to treat him like a bell cow back. Chubb is a volatile FLEX who’s only in consideration because of the mathcup.
Wide Receiver
Nico Collins: START, WR1
Jaylin Noel: SIT
Christian Kirk: SIT
Jayden Higgins: SIT
Talks of Nico Collins‘ demise have been greatly exaggerated. Despite having Mills under center, Collins made plays all day, turning a season high 15 targets into seven catches, 136 receiving yards, and a ridiculous one-handed grab with some toe drag swag to come down with a two-point conversion.

It was just the second game this season over 100 yards for Collins, but it was arguably the best he’s looked all season, and his third straight game with double-digit targets. Mills missed Collins multiple times in the end zone. With a season high in targets, receiving yards, and a couple of should-have-been touchdowns, Nico proved he’s still QB-proof. For the second time in three weeks, Jayden Higgins saw at least seven targets and got into the end zone with a tough catch after hitting the DB with a shimmy and cutting back towards the center of the end zone. It wasn’t an overly impressive performance, totaling just 42 yards, but the five receptions were his highest total this season. The return of Christian Kirk continued to hinder the production of Jaylin Noel. Noel played roughly 33% of snaps compared to 42% for Kirk, with both doing just enough to cannibalize each other’s fantasy value. Despite the decent matchup against Tennessee, I’m not confident enough in this offense to start any receiver outside of Collins.
Tight End
Dalton Schultz: START, TE1
A season-high 11 targets led to Dalton Schultz‘s third game over 13 fantasy points in his last four and his second over 18. He came down with a leaping grab in the back of the end zone for his first touchdown catch of the season and made a key 20-yard catch on third down to extend what would be the game-winning drive. Schultz dropped a sure thing first down on third-and-5 in the third quarter. He’s startable due to his recent uptick in volume, but the Titans have given up the ninth-fewest points to the position.
Defense/Special Teams
Houston Texans: START
The Texans are a must-start defense. Enjoy this fantastical finish and a big man tuddy.

Tennessee Titans
Quarterback
Cam Ward: SIT
Dillon Gabriel has more touchdown passes in five starts than Cam Ward has all season.
Running Back
Tony Pollard: BORDERLINE FLEX
Tyjae Spears: BORDERLINE FLEX
Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears have virtually split carries over the Titans’ last three games, rendering both relatively useless for fantasy. Spears has scored the only touchdown in that timeframe, but Pollard has handled 66.7% of the carries inside the five. Both are bottom of the barrel FLEX plays you’re praying get into the endzone. Houston’s allowed just one rushing touchdown since Week 7.
Wide Receiver
Elic Ayomanor: SIT
Calvin Ridley: SIT
Chimere Dike: SIT
Van Jefferson: SIT
It might be enticing to consider one of the Titans’ receivers, considering Elic Ayomanor, Van Jefferson, and Chimere Dike all have over a 15% target share in the Titans’ last three games. The problem is quarterback Cam Ward is completing fewer than 20 passes per game and has a total of five touchdowns. Calvin Ridley did return to a limited practice and would be the only guy I’d even think about starting, but considering the Titans take on the Texans, I’m out on Ridley this week, too.
(I’m not gonna lie, I completely forgot Van Jefferson played for the Titans)
Tight End
Chig Okonkwo: SIT
Chig Okonk-NO, amirite?

Defense/Special Teams
Tennessee Titans: SIT
The Titans allow the third most points per game, and opponents are averaging 32 points over their last three.
