San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback
Brock Purdy: SIT
Mac Jones: SIT
It’s not quite a sure thing, but it’s looking likely that Brock Purdy will be back under center for the 49ers on Sunday against the Cardinals. Whether it’s Purdy or Mac Jones, they belong on your bench. Arizona has given up the sixth-fewest points to the position and allowed one or fewer touchdown passes in seven of nine games.
Running Back
Christian McCaffrey: START, RB1
Brian Robinson Jr.: SIT
No question you’re starting Christian McCaffrey, but did you know that one of his primary forms of stress relief is being a self-taught pianist? He loves playing jazz and classical pieces and even performed at a children’s hospital gala.
Wide Receiver
Ricky Pearsall: FLEX, WR4 *if active, watch practice reports*
Jauan Jennings: START, WR3 | FLEX (if Pearsall active)
Kendrick Bourne: SIT
Jauan Jennings has scored touchdowns in back-to-back weeks while serving as the Niners’ top wide receiver, but things could get a little more crowded in Week 11. Ricky Pearsall finally returned to practice and is reportedly on track to play against the Cardinals. It’s not a great matchup; Arizona has allowed just five touchdowns to receivers all year. If Pearsall is out, Jennings can still be seen as a WR3. But if Ricky returns, both are flex plays.
Tight End
George Kittle: START, TE1
Your TE1 is good to go, but did you know that the large tattoo on his hand is a comic book character named Hobbes from the “Calvin and Hobbes” comic strip? He said he learned how to read from those comic strips as a child.
Defense/Special Teams
San Francisco 49ers: SIT
The 49ers are allowing over 30 points per game over their last three, forcing just one turnover in that timeframe.
Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback
Jacoby Brissett: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Had it not been for the out-of-nowhere news that Marvin Harrison Jr. had to have his appendix removed and will miss Week 11, Jacoby Brisket Brissett would have likely been a fringe QB1. The mouthwatering matchup with the 49ers’ defense that’s been cooked by quarterbacks over the past three weeks is still enough to keep him in consideration for Superflex since he still has his BFF Trey McBride to throw to.
Running Back
Bam Knight: SIT
Emari Demercado: SIT
Michael Carter: SIT
Until the return of Trey Benson, I’m not interested in starting any Cardinals running back. One likely has a solid week in fantasy, but good luck guessing which.
Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Zay Jones
Michael Wilson: SIT
Greg Dortch: SIT
Things have gotten mighty thin in Arizona, as the surprise news broke that Marvin Harrison Jr. would miss at least Week 11 after an emergency appendectomy. Zay Jones was placed on IR due to a season-ending Achilles injury suffered against Seattle. That leaves Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch as the last two men standing on the depth chart, but let’s be real. Trey McBride is about to get 99.9% of Brissett’s targets.
Tight End
Trey McBride: START, TE1
Trey McBride is an obvious start, but did you know that he holds the Fort Morgan High School career records for most points scored in basketball and most career home runs and RBIs in baseball, in addition to his football records?
Defense/Special Teams
Arizona Cardinals: STREAMER (two weeks)
The Cardinals are tied with the Bears and Saints for the third most fumbles recovered.
