Los Angeles Rams

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford: START, QB1

I’ve admittedly not been too high on Matthew Stafford for fantasy this year, but I dont put too much stock into his subpar Week 6 start. The Rams didn’t have to do much to beat the Cooper Rush-led Ravens, and Stafford was coming off back-to-back games with 300+ yards and 3 TDs. Stafford’s more matchup-dependent than years past, but he’s still a fine streamer. Despite the Jags leading the NFL in turnovers and likely being down Puka Nacua, he’s startable in Superflex and a decent Week 7 streamer. Jacksonville allows the eighth most fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season.

Running Back

Kyren Williams: START, RB2
Blake Corum: SIT

Kyren Williams‘ extreme pass game involvement appears to be an aberration; his targets dropped down to two just a week after seeing 10 and catching two touchdowns. Williams’ inefficiency is preventing him from consistent RB1 production, but his volume and proneness to find the endzone have helped maintain RB2 numbers. Jacksonville has been a challenging task for opposing running backs; they’ve allowed just one running back to rush over 50 yards and just two rushing touchdowns on the season. Blake Corum is day-to-day with an ankle injury, but regardless of whether he plays, he is off the fantasy radar until he sees more volume.

Wide Receiver

Puka Nacua
Davante Adams: START, WR1
Tutu Atwell: FLEX, WR5 (If Active)

Jordan Whittington: SIT

Although Puca Nacua has yet to be ruled out for Week 7 at the time of writing, it’s as certain as a quick trip to the bathroom after eating at Taco Bell that he’ll miss. If by some miracle Nacua is active, you start him. Period. With the likely scenario that Nacua is out, Davante Adams bumps from borderline WR1 status to the top five. Jacksonville has allowed the third most passing yards, the eighth most receptions, and tied for the sixth most passing touchdowns allowed this season (10). There’s a chance Tutu Atwell could return from injury in Week 7, and would be a boom/bust FLEX option if he does. With or without Atwell active, I’m not interested in starting Jordan Whittington. He played over 90% of snaps in Week 6 and did next to nothing.

Tight End

Tyler Higbee: SIT

Yes, he scored a touchdown last week. Yes, he caught all four of his targets. Had he not gotten in the endzone, Tyler Higbee would have scored eight points. Then, now, forever. #BenchTheBee

Defense/Special Teams

Los Angeles Rams: START,

The Rams defense is tied for third with 19 sacks on the season, and allowed the fourth fewest passing touchdowns (7).

Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

Trevor Lawrence is in the same vein as Bo Nix: consistently inconsistent. He finished Week 6 going 27 of 42 for 258 yards and 2 TDs, adding 9 yards on the ground. From quarter to quarter, he’ll flash the brilliance that made him the easy #1 overall pick, then throw a grossly off-target pass that validates the Lawrence haters’ POV. Tlaw and Brian Thomas Jr. finally got on the same page and hit him with a few consecutive dimes, but killed a drive by immediately overthrowing a wide-open Travis Etienne. It’s disappointing he couldn’t surpass 300 yards on 42 attempts. He’s a matchup-based streamer in 1QB and remains a solid QB2 in Superflex. The Rams have allowed one 300-yard passing game and multiple passing touchdowns just twice in six games.

Running Back

Travis Etienne Jr.: START, RB2
Bhayshul Tuten: SIT
LeQuint Allen Jr.: SIT

Is it time to worry about Travis Etienne Jr? ETN had his third straight game under 60 rushing yards and his second consecutive under 10 fantasy points. He finished with 12 carries for 27 yards and salvaged his day through the air, catching 4 passes for 28 yards on 5 targets. Granted, it was a tough matchup; the Colts have yet to allow a 100-yard rusher and have only allowed two rushing TDs all season, so I’m not concerned just yet. But that borderline RB1 status Etienne was flirting with is more like a middle-of-the-road RB2 with upside for spike weeks. That upside is minimal this week, as the Rams give up the fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. Bhayshul Tuten saw just 2 carries for 14 yards and added two catches for 14 yards, but remains strictly a handcuff.

Wide Receiver

Brian Thomas Jr.: START, WR2
Travis Hunte: FLEX, WR5
Dyami Brown: SIT

Brian Thomas Jr. finally led like his rookie self, finishing Week 6 with 10 targets, 8 receptions, 90 yards, and 1 TD. He got involved early, catching 3 of 3 targets for 47 yards in the first quarter, and made some difficult but impressive catches throughout the game. Thomas did have one drop on a pass that was a tad high, but he still should have brought it in. Travis Hunter saw 7 targets but turned them into just 4 catches for 15 yards. Thomas Jr.’s performance was promising for his season-long value. I’d consider BTJ a high-end WR2 who’s starting for you most weeks. But I need to see more consistency before pushing him back to WR1 status. Hunter is barely a startable FLEX most weeks, and I’d bench him in a bottom-10 matchup versus the Rams.

Tight End

Hunter Long: SIT
Johnny Mundt: SIT

Nope. Neither Jags TE contributed enough to be considered for fantasy while Brenton Strange is on the shelf.

Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguars: START

The Jaguars lead the NFL in turnovers with 14 and likely face a Puka Nacua-less Rams that has seven turnovers in six games.
