Green Bay Packers
Quarterback
Jordan Love: START, QB1
Jordan Love is becoming the QB1 McDouble. He’s not playing poorly; the Packers defense is playing so well that he doesn’t have to air it out much. The only game that Green Bay gave up over 20 points just happened to be Love’s only 300+ yard, three-touchdown game. He’s as safe a start as they come, but his ceiling is capped with the Packers defense shutting teams down.
Running Back
Josh Jacobs: START, RB1
You don’t need me to tell you to start Josh Jacobs, but did you know he shares a hometown (Tulsa, OK) with country music legend Garth Brooks?
Wide Receiver
Romeo Doubs: START, WR3
Matthew Golden: START, WR3
Dontayvion Wicks: SIT
Green Bay’s receivers are always a headache to try to decipher, but their roles could be clearing up a bit, at least until Christian Watson and Jayden Reed return. Romeo Doubs leads the team in targets and has developed a solid floor with some spike week potential. Matthew Golden is easily the most talented of the bunch and has three straight games of 10+ points. He has the highest ceiling of the active receivers, but the lowest floor as well. Dontayvion Wicks is a wide receiver.
Tight End
Tucker Kraft: START, TE1
Tucker Kraft has his lowest target total of the season against the Bengals, but he made the most of it, turning his two targets into 43 yards and a touchdown. He’s a good bet to bounce back against a Cardinals defense that allows the seventh most points to the position.
Defense/Special Teams
Green Bay Packers: START
The Packers defense has held four of five opponents to under 20 points.
Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback
Kyler MurrayJacoby Brissett: SIT
Close your eyes. Imagine what a Jacoby Brissett start would look like. And there ya go: 27 of 44 for 312 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 interceptions. That’s pretty much exactly what happened—he has a big arm, but he struggled under pressure. His two touchdowns were nice; one was a great jump ball to Trey McBride. He was involving Marvin Harrison Jr. early, but unfortunately, Brissett left the game with a concussion in the second quarter and didn’t return. There’s no word when Kyler Murray may return, but while he’s out, Brissett is a solid Superflex Starter with a decent floor but minimal ceiling.
Running Back
Bam Knight: FLEX, RB3
Michael Carter: SIT
Emari Demercado: SIT
Close your eyes. Imagine a chaotic backfield, and there you go. The Cardinals’ backfield is a total headache. It was reported that Bam Knight would be the lead back, and it was technically true: he played 49% of snaps to Michael Carter‘s 46%. Carter, however, started the game and saw five targets while running 20 routes to Knight’s 14 routes. Look at the final stat lines: Knight had 11 carries for 46 yards and a TD, but Carter’s higher usage in the passing game means this is a tight timeshare. This backfield is a nightmare until Trey Benson returns. Knight and Carter are both volatile FLEX plays whose usage will fluctuate week to week. You simply cannot trust the coaching staff. Emari Demercado is an afterthought (4 carries, 13 yards) and, honestly, droppable.
Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Zay Jones: SIT
Michael Wilson: SIT
Greg Dortch: SIT
Marvin Harrison Jr. looked good early, but his day was cut short. After a tough 21-yard catch, his head bounced off the turf, and a concussion was confirmed. I’d expect him to miss at least one game. Zay Jones became Brissett’s favorite WR, going 8 targets for 5 catches and 79 yards. Michael Wilson grabbed his typical mediocre stat line of 4 catches for 44 yards. With or without MHJ active, do not start any other Cardinals pass catcher. There is no upside and no certainty where the targets will go.
Tight End
Trey McBride: START, THE TE1
Trey McBride was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, the hometown of one of the most famous big band musicians in history, Glenn Miller.
Defense/Special Teams
Arizona Cardinals: SIT
The Cardinals defense isn’t in consideration for fantasy.
