Location: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN

New England Patriots

Quarterback

Drake Maye: START, QB1

Drake Maye threw for three touchdowns for just the second time in his career, and is pretty, pretty close to “fun fact” status (A tier of player who’s an obvious must start in every format, instead of boring you with how great they are, I give you a fun fact that probably pushes something useful out of your brain. But, it’s FUN). Especially if he’s able to produce against Tennessee this weekend. The Titans’ defense has held four of six quarterbacks to one or fewer touchdown passes, and five of six under 240 passing yards. As well as Maye’s playing, you’re still starting him in nearly all leagues. But only two QBs facing Tennessee have finished as QB1s on the week.

Running Back

Rhamondre Stevenson: FLEX, RB3
TreVeyon Henderson: FLEX, RB3

The Patriots’ backfield has the same maddening energy as the Seahawks! Rhamondre Stevenson got a massive 71% snap share but looked like he was running in cement, gaining only 18 yards on 13 carries and 1 target.TreVeyon Henderson saw just 29% of snaps but gained 36 yards on 9 carries and 2 targets. No matter how many fumbles Stevenson loses, Mike Vrabel is set on sticking with him for some strange reason.

That’s not satire. Vrabel actually said that. You’re not dropping Henderson, but the inexplicable split keeps both guys close to unstartable. They are FLEX viable against the Titans, but it’s a high-stress decision built purely on volume.

Wide Receiver

Stefon Diggs: START, WR2
Kayshon Boutte: FLEX, WR5
Mack Hollins: SIT
Mack Hollins: SIT

Kayshon Boutte had his come down with two tuddys and had the best game of his career in Week 6, but simmer down just a tad before getting all hot and bothered. Boutte played just 67% of snaps and ranks third on the team in target share. It was just his second game this season with over three targets. He has the explosiveness to put up crooked numbers, but I need to see it more than once every six weeks or so before I’m willing to confidently put him in my lineup. He’s a borderline FLEX against a Titans defense that’s allowed just four passing touchdowns to receivers and only one 100-yard receiving game. I am willing to start Stefon Diggs, despite the stinker of a game he put up in Week 6. Before the dud, Diggs was coming off back-to-back games over 100 yards, totaling 16 catches and 247 passing yards, good for 40.7 fantasy points. He’s emerged as the go-to guy for Drake Maye and is locked in as a WR2, regardless of matchup. The rest of the Patriots’ receivers are afterthoughts in fantasy.

Tight End

Hunter Henry: START, TE1

Despite the bottom 10 matchup and back-to-back games under double-digit fantasy points, Hunter Henry is still a viable TE1. He leads the Patriots in end zone targets and sits just behind Stefon Diggs in team target share with 16.7%.

Defense/Special Teams

New England Patriots: START

The Titans are one of five teams with 10 or more giveaways this season.

Tennessee Titans

Quarterback

Cam Ward: SIT

Rico Dowdle has more fantasy points in his past two games than Cam Ward does all season.

Running Back

Tony Pollard: FLEX, RB3
Tyjae Spears: FLEX, RB3

We may be headed for a changing of the guard in the Tennessee backfield. In just his second game back, Tyjae Spears saw more snaps and targets (59% & 4) than Tony Pollard (42% & 2). Spears finished with 5 carries, 22 yards, and ran 22 routes—nearly double Pollard’s 12. Pollard saw the higher ground volume (10 carries for 47 yards) but lost the crucial third-down and receiving work. The upside is limited, but the usage trend is undeniable. I expect Spears to take over this backfield before long. He is now the preferred back in PPR and the high-upside handcuff to own. With the shared work, both are FLEX plays at best. I’d avoid them if possible against the Pats, who give up the sixth fewest fantasy points to the position.

Wide Receiver

Calvin Ridley* Likely to miss Week 7
Elic Ayomanor: FLEX, WR4

Chimere Dike: SIT

Calvin Ridley left Week 6 with a hamstring injury, and while he hasn’t been declared out yet, he’s most assuredly out at least this week and likely more. Elic Ayomanor would be the beneficiary in Ridley’s likely missed time, but as minuscule as the passing production has been in Tennessee, he’s a FLEX you’re praying gets into the endzone.

Tight End

Chig Okonkwo: SIT

With 11 targets over his past two games, Chig Okonkwo could be a desperation streaming option if you have literally nobody else with a pulse available. But his ceiling is about 12 points.

Defense/Special Teams

Tennessee Titans: SIT

The Titans’ defense isn’t on the fantasy radar.
