Kickoff: Sunday, October 19, 2025, 1 p.m. ET

Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

Network: FOX

Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: START, QB1

You don’t need me to tell you to start Jalen Hurts, but did you know he was born in the same city (Houston) as legendary actor Patrick Swayze, the star of “Dirty Dancing” and “Road House”?

Running Back

Saquon Barkley: START, RB1

Color me concerned after Saquon Barkley was unable to put up Barkley-like numbers against his former team, the New York Football Giants, who have been more than generous to running backs this season. Minnesota presents a stiffer challenge, and coming off a bye, they have had an extra week to plan for the Eagles. Barkley is still an RB1, but slowly sliding down towards RB2 territory.

Wide Receiver

A.J. Brown: START, WR2
DeVonta Smith: START, WR3

The Eagles’ offense is broken and hasn’t looked right many times this season. DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown both have just two games over 10 points, and up next is the worst fantasy matchup for wide receivers, the Vikings. I’m not benching either, but Brown is a borderline WR2 and Smith a borderline WR3. I wouldn’t try to stop you if you wanted to sit Smith, however.

Tight End

Dallas Goedert: START, TE1

The only Eagles pass catcher I’m confident starting is Dallas Goedert, who has 20 targets in his last two games and scored 10 or more points in every start this season. Minnesota is a middle-of-the-road matchup, but Goedert is a must-start tight end while he’s seeing this much volume.

Defense/Special Teams

Philadelphia Eagles: START

The Vikings have given up the third-most sacks (21) despite playing in one less game than the rest of the top 17 most-sacked teams.

Minnesota Vikings

Quarterback

J.J. McCarthy: SIT, QB2 (startable in Superflex)
Carson Wentz: SIT, QB2 (startable in Superflex)

Whether it’s J.J. McCarthy or Carson Wentz, neither is anything more than a borderline Superflex start facing off against the Eagles. Philly is tied for the fourth-fewest touchdown passes allowed this season and held four of six quarterbacks under 200 passing yards.

Running Back

Jordan Mason: START, RB2
Zavier Scott: SIT

Among the 29 running backs with at least 60 carries, Jordan Mason ranks in the top 10 in explosive run rate (5.8%), missed forced tackles per attempt, and is one of just three with 100% of their team’s carries inside the 5. He ranks 13th in yards per carry (4.68) among that group and faces a Philadelphia defense allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Mason has potential for a post-bye blowup and should be starting in all formats.

Wide Receiver

Justin Jefferson: START, WR1
Jordan Addison: START, WR3
Jalen Nailor: SIT

You don’t need me to tell you to start Justin Jefferson, but did you know he is from the same small community (St. Rose, La.) as legendary Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed? Jordan Addison has scored 15 or more points in each of his two games since returning from suspension, and Philly is a solid matchup for opposing WR2s.

Tight End

T.J. Hockenson: SIT

T.J. Hockenson has 40 or fewer receiving yards in four of five games and is up against an Eagles defense allowing the third-fewest points to the position. He’s closer to droppable than he is startable.

Defense/Special Teams

Minnesota Vikings: START

The Vikings’ defense has 13 sacks in five games and held three of their five opponents under 20 points.
