Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

Only three quarterbacks have thrown for multiple touchdowns against the Raiders: Justin Herbert, Daniel Jones, and Patrick Mahomes. Trevor Lawrence can be starting in Superflex, but he’s done nothing to get excited about this season, and could be without Brian Thomas this week. Avoid if you can.

Running Back

Travis Etienne Jr.: START, RB2
Bhayshul Tuten: SIT
Lequint Allen Jr.: SIT

Oh, how the turntables. Travis Etienne Jr. was the belle of the ball the first few weeks of the season after Tank Bigsby was traded to Philly, but he’s been a whole lot of meh over the past few weeks. Etienne scored under 10 fantasy points in three straight weeks, failing to rush for even 50 yards. Neither Bayshul Tuten nor LeQuint Allen Jr. is doing enough to be considered to start, but both should be watched just in case ETN’s struggles continue. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see just that against the Raiders, who have yet to allow a 100-yard rusher this season.

Wide Receiver

Brian Thomas Jr. START, WR2
Travis Hunter: START, WR3
Dyami Brown: SIT

Before the bye, Jacksonville gave Travis Hunter the keys to the kingdom, and he answered the bell: eight receptions on 14 targets for 101 yards and his first career touchdown. Hunter did it in a variety of ways: slicing through the defense on screens, hauling in tough catches over the middle, and then running a perfect post route to absolutely torch the defensive back for his score, leaving the safety in the dust. You still can’t trust him as anything more than a WR3 right now, but this performance is a nice shot of optimism that he can attain that makes him undeniable upside. Brian Thomas Jr. suffered a late-game shoulder injury in the Jaguars’ Week 7 blowout loss before the bye and isn’t yet fully healthy. He’s expected to play, but keep an eye on practice reports over the next few days. The Raiders are a top-five fantasy matchup for wide receivers, and both Jags are startable. If BTJ can’t go, bump Hunter up to WR2.

Tight End

Johnny Mundt: SIT

That’s not a real name, is it?

Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguars: START

The Raiders are one of two teams averaging under 15 points scored per game.

Las Vegas Raiders

Quarterback

Geno Smith: SIT

One touchdown over his last three starts. A 7:10 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Great guy, but it’s time for Geno Smith to hang ’em up.

Running Back

Ashton Jeanty: START, RB1

Ashton Jeanty has been a disappointment for fantasy purposes, but it has more to do with the so-called offense he’s surrounded by. He’ll see a heavy workload against the Jaguars, but Jacksonville has only allowed two running backs to go over 50 yards and just two to run in touchdowns. He’s a borderline RB1.

Wide Receiver

Tre Tucker: FLEX, WR4
Jakobi Meyers: FLEX, WR4
Jack Bech: SIT

Until the Raiders sit Smith on the bench, Tre Tucker and Jakobi Meyers are borderline flex plays. The Jags have been a top-10 fantasy matchup for receivers, but I’m not holding my breath that the Raiders can take advantage of it.

Tight End

Brock Bowers: START, TE1

It’s been a long season for Brock Bowers, but he’s practicing fully for the first time since Week 4. If he’s starting for the Raiders, he’s starting for your fantasy team. Sometimes, it’s that simple.

Defense/Special Teams

Las Vegas Raiders: SIT

The Raiders have given up 30 or more points in three of their last five games, including two 40 burgers.
