Sit or Start recommendations for EVERY fantasy-relevant player in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season!

Game Info

Kickoff: Sunday, November 2, 2025, 8:20 p.m. ET

Location: Northwest Stadium, Landover, MD

Network: NBC

Seattle Seahawks

Quarterback

Sam Darnold: START, QB1 (Possibly WR1 if you are brave enough)

Granted, it was against Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes, but I’ll happily start Sam Darnold against a Commanders defense that’s given up six passing touchdowns over its past two games and allows the sixth-most points to the position.

Running Back

Kenneth Walker III: FLEX, RB3
Zach Charbonnet: FLEX, RB3

Not much to say here. Kenneth Walker is the better back, but Seattle continues to split the backfield between him and Zach Charbonnett. Until that changes, both are flex plays, regardless of the matchup.

Wide Receiver

Jaxon Smith-Njigba: START, WR1
Tory Horton: BORDERLINE FLEX
Cooper Kupp: BORDERLINE FLEX

You already know to start Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but did you know he was born in 2002, the same year the terrifying creature feature “They” (presented by Wes Craven) was released? Tory Horton and Cooper Kupp borderline flex plays based on a top-10 fantasy matchup with the Commanders.

Tight End

AJ Barner: STREAMER

Similar to the Horton and Kupp calls, AJ Barner is in streamer consideration simply based on a top 10 fantasy matchup.

Defense/Special Teams

Seattle Seahawks: : START

Seattle has allowed a combined 25 points and tallied a total of 10 sacks over their last two games.

Washington Commanders

Quarterback

Jayden Daniels: START, QB1

Of course you’re starting Jayden Daniels, but did you know he was born in 2000, the same year the mind-bending horror film “Final Destination” kicked off its deadly chain reactions?

Running Back

Jacory Croskey-Merritt: BORDERLINE FLEX
Jeremy McNichols: BORDERLINE FLEX
Chris Rodriguez Jr.: SIT

The Commanders’ backfield is one muddled fantasy mess that I’m avoiding completely if possible. Jacory Croskey-Merritt has a total of 13.5 fantasy points in the three games since his so-called “breakout” against the Chargers. Bill has taken nearly 50% of the rushing attempts, but has done next to nothing with them. Jeremy McNichols is the pass-catching back, and Chris Rodriguez is still involved enough to nerf all their fantasy values. In a bottom-10 fantasy matchup, I’d avoid all if possible.

Wide Receiver

Terry McLaurin: OUT
Deebo Samuel: START, WR3

Terry McLaurin reinjured the same quad that forced him out Weeks 4-7, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him miss multiple weeks again. Deebo Samuel should soak up most of the extra targets and bump back into WR2 value with the expanded usage. Seattle isn’t a great matchup, allowing just two receivers over 100 yards all season. No other Commanders receivers are worth starting against the Hawks.

Tight End

Zach Ertz: START, TE1

Zach Ertz has seen six or more targets in three straight games and gets a top-10 matchup with the returning Jayden Daniels. He’s a solid TE1 for Week 9.

Defense/Special Teams

Washington Commanders: SIT

Three straight games allowing over 25 points and back-to-back games over 400 yards of total offense? Yeahnothanks.
