Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa: Sit
Tua still has the same issues when it comes to fantasy football that he always has. He has a limited ceiling with no rushing production. He is still only two games back from his concussion, but he has yet to eclipse 20 fantasy points in any single game this season. A mark he has hit in less than 20% of his career games.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: Start, RB1
Achane Continues to be an elite player when the Dolphins have Tua at the helm. He leads the team in target share and somehow has not become not only their top running back but their top pass catcher. It would be a risky bet to assume that continues, but the fact that it is even a part of the conversation we are having is the main point. Achane is the heartbeat of the Dolphins offense right now. They play a Rams defense that has started to show signs of life, but still, Achane should easily be a top-10 running back this week and has RB1 overall in his range of outcomes if he continues to see above a 20% target share.
Some important context to Dave Kluge’s tweet linked above is he is not only a top 3 running back in those games, but he is averaging 28 FPPG in the four games. For context, that is 3 PPG more than the leader in all of fantasy football, Lamar Jackson. Achane is the truth when healthy.
Wide Receiver
Tyreek Hill: Start, WR2
Jaylen Waddle: FLEX Option, WR4
Tyreek Hill has yet to produce an elite game since Tua’s return. His target volume has been capped by the team’s usage of De’Von Achane. He is my WR20 in Week 10 as the Dolphins face an improving Rams defense that has started to get their young defenders going in the last two weeks. I would expect Hill to sit in the 8-target range with an increased chance of breaking a big play; the only caveat is that if that doesn’t happen, he isn’t likely to break into the WR1s. Jaylen Waddle has been an enormous letdown this season and for most of last season. It doesn’t look like Tua is capable of supporting Hill, Achane, AND Waddle. The bad news for Waddle is that he is usually the odd man out. For now, Waddle is a WR3 with upside.
Tight End
Jonnu Smith: Sit
Jonnu Smith has averaged six targets per game since Tua returned to the field. It is tough to know how long we can expect him to maintain this target share.
Los Angeles Rams
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford: Start, QB1
Matthew Stafford has benefitted from the return of both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. He has thrown for over 275 yards in each of the last two games while throwing for six total touchdowns. Expect him to continue his hot streak this week as he comes in as my QB7.
Running Back
Kyren Williams: Start, RB1
Williams failed to find the end zone for the first time all season. He has been much more efficient as of late, which bodes well for his success in the final stretch for fantasy football playoffs. He also has continued to absolutely dominate the running back touches for the Rams. The Dolphins have allowed the eighth most fantasy points to opposing running backs, so you can expect Williams to start his next touchdown streak in Week 10.
Wide Receiver
Cooper Kupp: Start, WR1
Puka Nacua: Start, WR2
Demarcus Robinson: FLEX Option, WR3
Stafford has been able to support multiple wide receivers as of late, and while all three of these players are not going to win you your week, they can all fill a role in pivotal matchups. Cooper Kupp should continue to run as the 1b in this offense, especially after a 14 target 11 reception performance in Week 9. He is averaging nearly 80 yards per game since returning from injury, and that is about as reliable as you can get. Nacua was ejected early in last week’s game, but he should return this week and reclaim his role atop your fantasy depth charts. The second-year pass catcher continues to be electric every time he touches the field.
Tight End
Sit Them All
Colby Parkinson has been sharing snaps with both Hunter Long and Davis Allen in recent weeks. Similar to some of the other teams around the league, multiple players rotating at an already volatile position means that they are all off the fantasy football radar.
